  • Develop and implement a comprehensive Nurse Practitioner (NP) Program for practicing nursing professionals.

  • Teach in the NP program.

  • Coordinate the recruitment and hiring of full-time and adjunct faculty.

  • Act as liaison between department faculty, the Associate Dean, the Dean, the Associate Provost for Online Learning, other campus offices, our online partner (Wiley) and the community.

  • Ensure all clinical training is conducted by qualified instructors, meeting departmental, State, National and AACN standards.

  • Ensure that the program has a sustainable and effective process for student learning assessment.

  • Ensure that an accurate and complete schedule is submitted to the Office of the Associate Dean by the due date determined by that office.

  • Ensure the timely submission of the department’s required reports and documents including: student learning goals assessment, updated syllabi, and updated curriculum map as necessary.

  • Coordinate departmental work by scheduling meetings and ensuring appropriate distribution of duties.

  • Develop and execute a path to accreditation for the program.

  • Work with faculty and students to resolve student issues. CURRICULUM: -Regularly review the curriculum to ensure coherence and rigor and coordinate revisions as necessary.

  • Ensure consistency of student learning across multiple sections of courses.

  • Ensure sufficient sections of courses are offered and appropriately staffed.

  • Coordinate and initiate discussions on curriculum revision. Ensure that curriculum committee forms are accurately completed.

  • Make decisions concerning transfer courses when the Transfer Services cannot make the determination. STAFFING: -Review departmentally-determined requirements for adjuncts and coordinate adjunct evaluations.

  • Initiate and submit appropriate paperwork for requests for new faculty. Work with the Associate Dean to organize searches for new full-time and adjunct faculty, and ensure adequate department-specific orientation for all new faculty. STUDENT RELATED:

  • Ensure current students receive appropriate academic advising.

  • Use online tools to meet with incoming students in a timely manner throughout the year.

  • Complete initial graduation certifications and, if necessary, work with the Office of the Registrar and student advisors to resolve any academic problems associated with certification for graduation. OTHER:

  • Coordinate all aspects of course development, delivery and refreshing with online partner.

  • Make recommendations about departmental budgets to the Director of MSN and the Associate Dean.

  • When relevant, develop alumni and industry relations.

  • Travel to online partners HQ annually.
