Lockheed Martin Advanced Development Programs— Skunk Works THIS POSITION IS CONTINGENT ON CONTRACT AWARD This position is for an Airframe Designer for the Low Boom Flight Demonstrator. This position requires an Airframe Design Engineer to use their technical expertise to design aircraft structure and subsystems installations.
The candidate will apply his or her understanding of the technical principles of structural design toward the solution of technical problems. The candidate will be responsible for layout and detail modeling of aircraft structure, structural assemblies, layouts and detail drawings using CATIA V5, participating in trade studies, creating and maintaining interface control drawings, and coordination with Integrated Product Teams. The candidate will work under some supervision of senior engineers and will be expected to coordinate with other teams within the program.
Must be a US Citizen. This position is located at a facility that requires special access. Selected applicant does not require a clearance to start, but will be required to obtain a secret clearance after starting.

Thorough understanding of GPS theory and how position is derived. Thorough understanding of radio and radar navigation and the limitations that exist. Strong Systems Analysis skills, with a background in aeronautical data quality evaluation.
Understanding of Federal Aviation Regulations and CNS/ATM requirements. Familiarity with EUROCONTROL and other sovereign nation aviation regulations. Ability to work closely with NGA, FAA, NAVFIG, Aircraft Program Offices, and other navigation database stakeholders.
Familiarity with DoD acquisition processes and Systems Engineering Technical Reviews. Strong communication skills, experienced team leader/builder, ability to work closely with multiple diverse teams simultaneously, and the drive to contribute to program success. Ability to work independently, or in a multi-discipline team.
