The Global Market Manager, Air Conditioning & Refrigeration reports directly to the Global Business Director for Fluorochemicals. Based in King of Prussia, the incumbent in this position is expected to travel 25-35%, domestically and internationally, and to represent Arkema at Industry Associations & respective work groups (AHRI, HARDI.). The position routinely interfaces directly with Business Development Managers, Market Managers, Sales Directors, Field Sales, Supply Chain, R&D, Technical Service Team, Customer Service, Legal Counsel, Government and Regulatory Affairs, Import/Supply Managers (Goods Movement), all at the regional and global levels. This highly visible role demands a high level of accountability and offers strong growth potential.

The role is to develop and implement a plan to approach the Air Conditioning (AC) and Refrigeration (REF) markets, with particular emphasis on OEM's and Wholesalers in NA. The plans will include identification of markets and/or submarkets within the Industry that should be targeted. Once markets and/or submarkets are identified, the Market Manager will begin to identify and engage potential OEM and Wholesaler buying partners and end use influences that would have interest in specifying Arkema product for their needs. In order to do this, the Manager will have to do Industry research and this will include travel. The job will also have a component of technical service, financial understanding of sales price vs. product cost, plant implications of new product introduction, advertising and communication, and the ability to present technical information to key industrial players. Twenty five percent of the job will be focused on developing an in-depth knowledge of the each market, both quantitative and qualitative to support the introduction and commercialization of new products. The Manager will be responsible for developing the value proposition for all new products offered into these markets. As part of this activity, the Manager will lead ASAP teams as appropriate to facilitate new product development and commercialization.


More specifically, the role leads the marketing and business activities for two segments – AC and REF

  • Develop in-depth understanding of the Residential and Commercial AC and REF Markets

This individual will troubleshoot, repair, and replace HVAC equipment. Troubleshoot, repair, and replace HVAC components and equipment. Repair various split/ systems, rooftop package units, window units, chillers, and refrigeration equipment.


The position involves considerable physical exertion, such as regular climbing of ladders, lifting of heavy objects (up to 80 pounds) on a highly frequent basis and/ or assuming awkward positions for long periods of time. There are routine exposures to significant levels of heat, cold, moisture and air pollution. The position may involve periodic exposure to chemical substances and physical trauma of a minor nature such as cuts, bruises and minor burns.



Specialized training in principles, procedures, practices, routines or techniques in a specific area or trade which might normally be acquired through up to 18 months of education or training beyond the high school level. Vocational competence in the operation of mechanical or electronic equipment may be required.


One years of experience in the installation, service and maintenance of heating and air conditioning systems is required.


Must have a valid driver's license and comply with the City of Houston's policy on driving (AP 2-2). State of Texas Registered Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Technician License.


Preference shall be given to eligible veteran applicants provided such persons possess the qualifications necessary for competent discharge of the duties involved in the position applied for, such persons are among the most qualified candidates for the position, and all other factors in accordance with Executive Order 1-6..

Duties included, but not limited to:* Performs installation, maintenance, diagnosis, and repair of air handlers, variable air volume units, air flow dampers, V belts, sheaves, pulleys, and bearings;

  • Maintains and repairs commercial refrigeration equipment used in air conditioning, ventilation, and chilled water systems;

  • Inspects, maintains, and repairs plumbing, heating, water, cooling, refrigeration, and sewer systems;

  • Analyzes and maintains control systems that include primarily Johnson control electrical, electronic, and pneumatic sensors and actuators;

  • Lays out, fabricates, and installs mechanical, pneumatic, electrical, and electronic temperature and humidity controls for heating and ventilation systems;

  • Repairs relays, timers, meters, and switches with local or remote computer control;

  • Reads and interprets blueprints;

  • Performs repairs on low pressure steam and hot water heating systems;

  • Monitors and adjusts heat and air conditioning in buildings using automated building monitoring and control systems;

  • Prepares surfaces for welding and uses arc or acetylene welding and burning equipment; and

  • As needed, assists journeyman electrician with installing low voltage circuits, troubleshooting alarm systems, bending and installing conduit. Qualifications

Required Qualifications: High school graduate or GED AND the completion of a recognized apprenticeship in the refrigeration or steamfitting trades;

OR Full journey-level status in the Plumbers or Steamfitters Union;

OR Five (5) years of applicable experience in the refrigeration or steamfitting trades or a combination of the two (Vocational or trade school training as a steamfitter of refrigeration mechanic will substitute, year for year, for work experience up to a maximum of two (2) years);

OR Completion of a recognized apprenticeship program for heating, ventilation and air conditioning.

AND* Low Voltage/Limited Energy Electrical License;

  • Valid motor vehicle operator's license; and * EPA universal refrigerant handling certification

  • The HVAC Technician is required to support any emergency situations that affect the DES owned properties, both on and off of the Capital Campus. Preferred/Desired Qualifications: * Ability to perform skilled HVAC work;

  • Knowledge of standard practices, methods, materials, tools, and equipment used in the HVAC trade;

  • Knowledge of current HVAC, electrical codes, and electrical safety precautions;
