Major Duties: * Maintain, repair, and rebuild a variety of assortment of commercial and industrial air handlers, variable frequency drives (VFD), environmental control rooms, humidifiers, chilled water systems, cooling towers, air cooled chillers, water cooled chillers, direct expansion air conditioning units, etc.

  • Perform quarterly preventive maintenance program and work with oxy acetylene welding material.

  • Balance elements of the systems to meet temperatures and humidity requirements associated with the above HVAC systems.

  • Review blueprints, plans, wiring schematics, piping schemes or engineering specifications/verbal instructions; or use OEM manuals to diagnose and repair equipment.

  • Perform operation, maintenance and testing of programmable logic controllers (PLC), and Building Automated Systems (BAS). * Use various plumbing and pipe fitting materials such as copper, PVC, ABS, CPVC, cast iron, black iron, galvanized iron and others.

  • Make visual inspections for maintenance and repair deficiencies to all affected facilities.

  • Assures that safety and housekeeping rules are followed (e.g., assures that machine capacities are not exceeded and that tools are properly used). * Reviews safety procedures prior to work execution and assists in development of shop safety plans.
