POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES/MAJOR DUTIES

  • Ensures that product received from plant or other plants is recorded correctly.

  • Load and unloads to appropriate distribution area to ensure that shipping schedules are met.

  • Maintains cleanliness of work area. Work area includes bathrooms and ancillary offices.

  • Pull and pack orders accurately according to shipping manifest to include full trays and individual packaged items.

  • Remove stales and load empty trays into trailer for return to plant.

  • Ensures compliance with all company policies and procedures + Performance of other duties which are deemed by management to be an integral part of the job, including but not limited to fulfillment of work schedules, adherence to attendance policies, and other applicable operating rules, policies and procedures. MOBILITY + Physically capable of movement to all Shipping areas.

  • Ability to exert force necessary to use handtruck to transport stacked products weighing (400lbs), up to at a distance of (300)feet. Continuously throughout the day into and out of transport trucks and low boy humps, up and down ramps with slopes up to 30°, 24' high.

  • Ability to routinely stoop, bend, and lift product containers weighing (20 lbs), from floor level up to 90'.

SENSORY

  • Ability to distinguish color coded equipment, containers, label, signs, etc. Ability to take verbal direction. Ability to see and understand computer printouts.

COMMUNICATION + Speech and hearing abilities that allow the individual to communicate clearly and distinctly in English, and/or another language if required.

General Summary: Reviews Engineering Design Documentation consisting of Drawing, Engineering Order and Parts List for consistency with company standards, design quality, requirements andits correct interpretation.   • Assist in supervision of all product movement to include: check-in/check-out of delivery route trucks, receiving and unloading of transport trucks, and organization/rotation of product within the warehouse.

HOW YOU’LL CONTRIBUTE You will have a hands-on role in our warehouse to ensure delivery of our vast product line to our valued customers. + Verify products and match items to packing slips using item and vendor numbers, descriptions, and quantity through visual inspections, reference manuals or measuring instruments.

  • Count and pack items, including DOT regulated materials.

  • Fill boxes with packing material, pack and seal items, adhere shipping labels and shrink wrap.

  • Create bar code labels using item numbers, scan and apply labels into warehouse computer system, and scan packages for UPS invoicing.

  • Audit packages for accuracy or damage.

  • Load, unload and move product by hand or by skid.

  • Operate basic (i.e., electric pallet jack, forklift) and advanced (i.e., turret truck, order picker) powered equipment.

  • Train cross-functionally in other departments and functions to support business requirements.

  • Follow safety guidelines at all times, meet specified productivity and quality expectations, and participate in Work Clean program. This position will start at the end of October 2017 and run through December 2017. The primary purpose of this position is to support the outbound shipping department. Checkers are responsible for accurately verifying all outgoing product.

This will include dates if applicable, quantities, correct pack size and description. This terrific opportunity is located at Sysco IFG's facility in Jacksonville, FL. Responsibilities: The Checker is primarily responsible for + Double checks all labels for accuracy + Quality checks outbound pallets and full loads for accuracy prior to shipment + Communicates in an effective manner, both orally and written, with warehouse personnel, other departments and management + Continually informs the warehouse management team of potential problems or changes + Follows all warehouse safety rules + Completes any projects or other duties as assigned by warehouse management team The Checker must have a High School Diploma or its equivalent, have 6 months of general warehousing experience, and effectively communicate (including reading, writing, and speaking) in English.

The Checker must be able to: + Work in both ambient and freezer temperatures + Have strong attention to detail + Lift up to 50 lbs. often and up to 80 lbs occasionally + Work 1st, 2nd, or 3rd shift + Work nights and/or weekends as needed Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States.
