It is not until you fully understand each client, that a plan can be created and implemented to achieve a client's long-term life goals.

This is a brand new, innovative Reggio Emilia inspired preschool with a small 40-student capacity. At CCPRE, we believe that children are born strong, capable, and ready to learn, with the knowledge and the motivation to grow and develop. Children are born confident, competent, and curious. At this time, we have 12 students enrolled. We have a director, two full-time Lead Teachers, and one part-time Assistant Preschool Teacher on the faculty.
A typical day…
o 7:30 AM. Children slowly start to trickle in. The first students to arrive decide in what room in our amazing environment will we begin our day. The school is a Spanish Hacienda style building with a central exterior “Piazza” – an outdoor place with a proud and tall Ponderosa Pine tree, sandy open space, and a shaded patio where children can paint, play with water, engage in sensory exploration, and make a beautiful mess. An entire room is designed to serve as a workshop, maker space, and art studio - our “atelier.” We call it the Makery. It is filled with materials such as clay, paint, wood, writing implements, fabrics, textures, and novelty items that can be repurposed as artistic elements. An entire room is designed to serve as the Imaginarium – a place for dramatic play, fine-motor development, fantasy, creation, and imagination. An entire room is designed as an interior playground complete with a climbing wall, large foam building blocks, and large foam pads and geometric shapes where kids can create things to climb on. An entire room is designed to serve as the Exploratorium – a place to play with numbers, science, and nature. This room features a two-story loft where kids can see the environment and the neighboring classroom from different perspectives. When the number of students reaches about 8, we separate into two different areas of the school.
o 8:45. One teacher leads the kids in stretching and yoga, while the other teacher puts morning snack into serving bowls and platters. After stretching all of the kids wash their hands and a few are selected to set the table and put out snack on the tables for a family-style experience.
o 9:30. The school divides into two small groups and each group has Morning Meeting where we typically sing, read a book, and discuss our current projects and interests. Based on the responses of children, teachers place educational elements in the environment and plan activities and long and short-term projects to provoke further exploration of the topic.
o 10:00. Outdoor/Active Play
o 10:30. Project Time: Project topic ideas come from the teachers’ observations of the children’s play and exploration AND from academic and social concerns and goals of teachers and parents. Successful projects are those that engage a significant amount of interest and curiosity that provoke children’s creative thinking and problem solving. Projects may evolve and take unexpected turns based on the questions and ideas that emerge through the process.
o 11:30. Lunch
o 11:45. Reading stories and getting ready for nap.
o 12:30. One group of children who will actually fall asleep for a nap take naps in one room with an Assistant Teacher, while another group of kids not needing an actual nap, read books, work on puzzles, or engage in individual quiet work with another Assistant Teacher in a separate quiet room.
o 2:15. Put away cots. Begin Active Play.
o 3:00. Afternoon snack.
o 4:00. PM project or provocation.
o 4:30 - 5:30 child-directed play.
· Must be at least 18 years of age and have a HS diploma or equivalent.
· Must have completed the 45 hour course.
· Must have or be pursuing a CDA or a degree in ECE.
At CCPRE, our qualifications for teaching include a natural love for working with young children, a natural passion for increased knowledge in teaching methods, and a desire to share this acquired knowledge with others. We look for inherent curiosity and love for learning, not the ability to acquire, recite and reproduce textbook knowledge.
Teachers are co-explorers, guiding, nurturing, learning, hypothesizing, and solving problems side-by-side with the children. They are researchers and documenters, listening, observing, recording, displaying, and learning by and from the project work and the playful learning of the children. Teachers are learners, working collaboratively with other educators to improve their skills.
