The selected candidate provides executive level administrative support and quality customer services for the Office of the Under Secretary of Defense for Research and Engineering (OUSD(R&E)). The candidate will manage the day-to-day operations of the office of the Principal Deputy (PD) of OUSD(R&E). The candidate must be comfortable working with senior executives in a fast-paced senior environment.
Duties and Responsibilities
Manage and maintain the complex calendars and schedules of OUSD(R&E) senior personnel, and resolve conflicting priorities and orchestrate changes to the calendar, as required, that may include coordination, verification, and scheduling of meetings with senior government personnel, congressional members and staff, industry, and academia personnel.
Answer the telephone, take messages, and/or refer calls to other individuals, as appropriate, within the OUSD(R&E) organization.
Plan, coordinate, and confirm logistical support (transportation, badges, security clearance paperwork, audiovisual support, etc.) for meetings held in conjunction with the PDUSD(R&E) activities.
Escort, greet, and provide information supporting visits to the PDUSD(R&E).

Establish host country points of contact to include embassy financial administrators and overall logistical support;

In partnership with LeClairRyan, we are excited to announce that we are currently seeking a Network Engineer in our Alexandria, Virginia office who will contribute to overall success and help secure the bright future of our organization.
Our Alexandria, Virginia office is located at 2318 Mill Road near historic Old Town Alexandria and conveniently located near the United States Patent and Trademark Office ("USPTO") and across the street from the Alexandria Division of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia ("EDVA"), popularly known as the "Rocket Docket" for having the fastest time to trial of any court in the country! A benefit of our great location is easy access to public transportation as the Eisenhower Metro Station is 2 blocks away and the King Street Metro Station and Amtrak/VRE Station is a 10 minute walk or very short cab ride from the building. This office location, established in 2010, is home to approximately 30 attorneys whose practice areas range from Intellectual Property and Technology, white collar, business litigation, employment litigation and consumer financial services litigation.
LeClairRyan's Information Technology team consists of approximately 20 professional staff who provide onsite and remote support to LeClairRyan employees nationwide. As LeClairRyan has expanded, the team has focused on development, improvement, and implementation of the Firm's technological resources. With LeClairRyan's dedication to innovation, our Information Technology department will continue to be a vital part of our continued success.
The Network Engineer is responsible for configuration, monitoring, and maintaining local and wide-area network resources in all LeClairRyan offices, as well as configuration and maintenance of network security infrastructure as required. As a subject matter expert the Network Engineer is solely responsible for the creation, implementation and management of the networking including monitoring, traffic analysis and reporting.
Manages data and voice networks: voice and data VLANs, WAN data circuits, remote access, all WAN and LAN network hardware including routers, switches and all network based firewalls.
Configures, maintains, and monitors Cisco wireless networks and ensures optimal network performance
Responsible for assisting in the troubleshooting of internal telephony systems: network path traversal, routing, NAT, and VLAN.
Working knowledge and experience with SD WAN deployment, configuration and MPLS integration.
Assist with configuration and implementation of mobile devices infrastructure (Good for Work), Anti-Spam services (Mimecast), and Anti-Malware services.
Responsible for assisting in the creation, implementation, and maintenance of a disaster recovery facility in Bridgewater, NJ including provisioning, build out and maintenance, of company infrastructure, data replication meeting company RTO and RPO objectives; provide reporting on SLA's needed to deliver network services and client applications (including Citrix , web servers and all related network infrastructure).
Works with infrastructure as a service provider to provide reporting to ensure adherence to SLAs
Responsible for assisting in the maintenance and troubleshooting of intrusion detection and prevention systems.
Works closely with security personnel and IT management to develop and recommend new network security policy proposals to improve security posture and ensure that the Firm meets emerging security standards.
Establish and maintain a system of network alerting to ensure reliability and maximize system availability.
Bachelor's degree preferred, plus relevant network and security certifications
CCNA certification required, CCNP or CCIE certification preferred
Experience in network security systems and relevant certifications are preferred
MCSE, MCP, ITIL certifications preferred
At least 5 years of related experience required.
Law Firm experience highly preferred.
Position requires escalation management and after-hours responsiveness.
Excellent working knowledge of IT concepts with an emphasis on network and security
Expert knowledge of TCP/IP, TCP and UDP ports
Expert knowledge and hands on experience of networking concepts (Wired and Wireless)
Working knowledge of mobility devices (Blackberry, Windows Mobile, Android and Apple iDevices)
Excellent understanding of Windows Clients, Servers, and communication protocols.
Hands-on knowledge of Cloud Services, co-location and disaster recovery data center implementation and support
Solid working knowledge of Excel, Word, Powerpoint, Outlook, and Visio
Working knowledge and understanding of ITIL framework
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Must be proficient with planning and possess excellent organizational skills
Must take initiative and have decision making ability
Complex interpretation, presentation, analytical and conceptual skills
Critical thinking, financial management skills
Ability to handle sensitive/confidential communication
