Primary Purpose of Position:
Tend plastic molding or casting machines to mold or cast thermoplastic products.
Observe continuous operation of automatic machines to ensure that products meet specifications and to detect jams or malfunctions, making adjustments as necessary.
Visually inspect products for surface and dimension defects to ensure conformance to specifications.
Position and secure work pieces on machines, and start feeding mechanisms.
Turn valves and dials of machines to regulate pressure, temperature, and speed and feed rates, and to set cycle times.
Remove finished products from molding machine.
Observes plant safety rules.Helps to identify and eliminate any safety hazard or concern.Assists in monitoring of quality of work output and maintenance procedures.
Assists in conducting operations so as to meet established cost standards for use of materials, supplies and equipment.Follows instructions in the most efficient use of tools, machines and materials.
Maintains a neat and orderly working area and assists other departments in the cleanliness and organization of working areas when projects overlap other department areas.

Rebar Cutting Machine Operator
Operating a rebar cutting machine.
Rebar is received in standard lengths and cut to size based on customer specifications. Operator will set the machine to specified length and cut rebar to match quantity needed. Once the rebar is cut it will be stacked and moved using an overhead crane or pallet jack.
Requirements: Able to read a tape measure (1/16"), Able to read and write in English, 1 year of machine operations, metal shop preferred, and able to lift up to 50lbs consistently.
2nd and 3rd shifts, full-time, paying $12-$12.75/hr to start.

We are currently seeking several employees to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment in the Groton, CT area. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:Operates various abrasive saws and burn-out equipment as necessary to remove cast parts from casting sprues and gates.
This includes all equipment such as 30" Fox Saw, 24" Taber Saw, 14" Wheel Saw, Burnout Unit and as/if needed the Kevex Equipment. Position part against blade and manually or mechanically feeds as necessary to cut excess material; avoids removal of casting features and damage to part areas. Allows minimum metal to enable proper and efficient grinding and clean up.
Usually works from written instructions.Performs complex machine set ups and adjustments; replaces worn or damaged abrasive wheels. Complies with written or verbal instructions or orders of supervisor. Maintains all necessary records on prescribed form.Detects and reports improper operation and unusual conditions to proper supervision.
Maintains work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition.
