The Role: Xylem seeks to hire a Molder – First Shift. This position is responsible for operating a jolt-squeeze molding machine used in the production of green sand molds at the TTO Slaton foundry. Position requires attention to safety, quality and productivity.
Job Responsibilities: + Maintain high safety standards + Set up and make molds on jolting and squeeze-type machines + Follow conventional molding techniques, such as: punch or set sprues, fill mold with sand from hopper as required, jolt, squeeze, draw patterns, close molds, move to pallet car, strip flask and send pallet car down platform to be poured.
Venting, cutting, gates ramming, tucking, setting cores, chills, chaplets, risers, gates required as necessary.
Patch and repair molds, ream out sprue and riser as necessary + Performs related duties as assigned

ABOUT YOUR ROLE
Ensures proper labeling, packaging and quality of product. Checks product and packaging quality on a regular basis, informs supervisor of problems or trends. Packages product as it comes from injection/extrusion machines and systems. Cleans and maintain work area. Grinds as needed during the shift. Adds water to specific plastic bags and properly heat seal. Other related duties as assigned, for example may perform rework tasks.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE
Operate molding/extrusion machines for maximum production and quality.
Unjams and resets secondary equipment as necessary, following proper safety procedures.
Makes boxes for outgoing product.
Visually inspects product.
Informs Team Leader or Process Technician of recurring problems with equipment.
Ensure good housekeeping to include grinding excess material, sweeping floor and organizing packaging material needed at workstation.
Verifies counts, weights, and quality of product being packed.
Adds water as required to ensure proper packaging of certain product. Heat seals as needed.
Segregates bad product and informs Team Leader/Process Technician of any quality trends or concerns.
Keeps track of machine problems in the paperwork/forms provided.
Follows established work instructions, policies and procedures.
Covers breaks as needed throughout the shift.
Support safety efforts on the shift.
Support housekeeping for Production floor as required.

Molding is a green sand casting operation in which parts are made by a pattern impression in the sand. This process involves the use of two basic machines: a squeezer for smaller castings and a roto-lift machine for larger castings.
Sand is packed into a flask to make a mold. Each mold consists of two halves'. Once each half is made the two half's are put together making the actual mold. Each mold will vary in size and weight depending on the product being made.The mold is then transferred to a conveyor line where they are moved to the pour line. What Process Control & Maint contributes to Cardinal Health
Process Control and Maintenance sets up and operates processing equipment to manufacture to established quality standards in order to meet production demands. Troubleshoots, repairs and conducts maintenance on equipment. Writes and executes equipment qualifications on all new or modified tooling or equipment to test and qualify items and provide documented proof that operations are within established parameters. May monitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures. This is a day shift position but may require overtime to include weekends.

A minimum of 2 year's experience in injection molding.
Experience in "thin wall" molding is a plus. As well as stack molds and hot runner systems
Scientific molding experience, preferable RJG
Able to read part prints and perform basic measurements
Experienced with Husky, JSW and Van Dorn injection molding machines a plus
This is a day shift position but may require overtime to include weekends
Stand Up Fork Lift experience is required
