Start rate: $19.35 Per Hour + $.70 per hour shift premium for Swing shift (2:30PM to 10:30PM, Monday – Friday + O/T as required). The selected individual will be responsible for but not limited to the following obligations: Performs operations to nail, belt, expand, flatten/stress relief, and trim aluminum core details to customer-defined dimensions.
Operates a variety of custom expanding equipment, large band saws with moving tables, large power shear, hot glue applicators, powered lift equipment and a Programmable Logic Controlled oven. Performs any MRP transactions as required. Performs set-ups, first part checks and any specific nailing, belting, expanding, trimming and when necessary stress relief of Aluminum core slices to meet customer requirements.
Uses a tape measure, a dial caliper, 6" rule and micrometer. Uses visual inspections and sales order review specification list to ensure product meets customer specifications, especially in regards to length, width, thickness, and cell count (cells per inch). Uses a computer and calculator to compute and enter data for MRP transactions. Enters proper temperature and timing on heat stress oven to assure optimum flatness of core.
Transports product by hand, powered lift, and manually powered cart. Ensures that products meet customer specifications and expectations. Works in a team environment to reach consensus decisions within the guidelines and boundaries established by the company, and maintains constructive relationships with co-workers.
Operates at all times in compliance with the Hexcel Casa Grande Quality System and Quality Policy. Complies with Hexcel policies, procedures, and Code of Business Conduct. Qualifications High School diploma or general education degree (GED) or equivalent.
Minimum of one year experience required preferably in manufacturing. Minimum of 6 months manufacturing experience in the Hexcel Casa Grande facility may substitute in lieu of one year experience. Must be proficient in use of tape measure and ruler.
Basic working knowledge of computer data entry function preferred. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.

About This Position
In an exciting and challenging startup environment, the Metallurgist provides technical support to the Sales Department and EEC aluminum customers for all phases of aluminum operations, supports operations to ensure good quality procedures are in place, oversees trials of new materials and processes to ensure proper practices are being utilized, and provides metallurgical support to management personnel. This position reports directly to the General Manager.
In this role, the Chief Aluminum Metallurgist will identifying and improve operational problems, defining standard operating procedures, recruiting and training personnel to meet manufacturing and business requirements.
This position provides strategic direction for operations from a metallurgical perspective ensuring technological solutions to aluminum product development (including cost reduction and efficiency improvements) and requires interaction with several internal BU's, suppliers and customers. Stays constantly updated on latest equipment, techniques and materials, and makes recommendations on incorporation into plant operations.
Develops, implements and maintains the QMS, i.e ISO and AS systems
Plays a major role in customer relations and customer base development;
Develops chemistry recipes to satisfy operational performance and customer requirements;
Oversees the investigation and disposition of non-conforming material.
Perform failure investigations on customer returns/claims.
Maintains safe and healthy work environment by defining and enforcing standards and procedures; complying with legal regulations;

Ability to perform accurate calculation in order to correctly formulate polymerization reactions at the scale of 30L to 4000L based on standardized production procedures.
Operate and monitor process parameters for polymerization reactors, including temperature, pressure, pH and agitation speed in order to produce media of correct particle size, porosity and shape.
Work with Management, R&D scientists and production teams when it's necessary to troubleshoot production issues, provide custom materials for customer evaluation and/or identify process improvement opportunities within the plant to improve efficiencies and/or processes.
Candidates should possess a two year AAS Degree in Process Technology (or equivalent) and a minimum of 3 years as a Chemical Process Operator in a relevant field.
More than 5 years of experience as a Chemical Process Operator in a relevant field will be considered in lieu of the two year AAS Degree in Process Technology.
The ability to be cross-trained to perform other jobs as needed.
Ability to read instructions and interpret production formulas, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
Complete production tasks, including workstation setup, calculation of raw material requirements, product formulation including pumping, mixing or blending of dry/liquid chemicals, monitoring of polymerization equipment, media sizing, etc., on time and according to the defined schedule.
