Performs basic hand or machine tasks in support of the manufacture and finishing of parts. Follows departmental procedures to successfully and safely complete these tasks.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Operates assigned machines and/or performs assigned production processes.
- Maintains a safe, clean and uncluttered work area; removes metal chips from machines resulting from cutting processes.
- Performs basic visual inspection to identify obvious cosmetic flaws as well as verifying part compliance against predetermined quality guides or standards by using simple go/no-go gauges, calipers, micrometers, plug gauges, thread gauges, and height gauges.
- Loads and unloads assigned machines; prepares raw materials, follows loading procedures, removes parts from machine, washes and deburrs as necessary, stacks in designated baskets or boxes and delivers completed parts to the next operation.
- Observes machine operation to detect part defects or machine malfunction, reports problems to Lead person or Set-up Personnel.
- Assembles main tubes by using adhesive, tightening and cleaning equipment with assistance from trained operator.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

We are seeking an addition to our team For Aluminum Manufacturing! The welder / punch operator / saw operator will prepare aluminum louver parts for assembly.
- Saw parts to length with chop saws
- Punch parts using dedicated punch presses and tooling
- Weld parts to create louver components and finished assemblies
- Previous 1-3 years experience in welding, manufacturing, or other related fields

Basic Purpose and Function: The Level I aluminum fabricator shall assemble (fit) small aluminum components/parts and completely weld out. A Level I fabricator shall set-up of welding equipment IAW approved procedures and preparation of parts in accordance with cleanliness standards, specifications and standard work instructions. Major Responsibility (Functions/Duties): Analyze engineering drawings to plan layout/assembly sequence of small weldments.
Determine required equipment and welding method, applying knowledge of metallurgy, geometry, welding techniques and standard procedures/processes provided by the company. Lay out, position, and secure parts according to specifications/drawings using straightedge, combination square, calipers and ruler. Cut aluminum plate/shapes using powered saws and hand shears.
Weld or tack aluminum parts together using spot welding gun or FCAW equipment. Weld components in flat and vertical positions. Climb ladders or work on scaffolds to assemble components.
Signal crane operator to move large work pieces. Dismantle aluminum assemblies or cuts scrap metal, using saws, routers or plasma-arc equipment. Position and secure parts using hoist, crane, wire and banding machine, or hand tools.
Inspect grooves, angles, or gap allowances using micrometer, caliper and precision measuring instruments. Remove rough spots from work piece using portable sander, hand file or scraper. Develop templates and other work aids to hold and align parts.
Position requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Welding experience and/or training along with a general knowledge of blueprints and hand tools is preferred.
Two to three years related experience. The Washington Works site is located on the banks of the Ohio River near Parkersburg WV, the site employs about 750 DuPont Employees. The site began manufacturing here in 1948. Principal Accountabilities :
Simultaneously operating three batch chemical reactors, a bulk powder pneumatic conveying system, vacuum systems, filtration systems, a continuous distillation process, a thermal oxidizer, boiler, will oversee the loading and unloading of railcars and bulk trucks, as well as running quality and analytical testing on in-process and finished product in the Laboratory.
Perform laboratory analysis including GC, GPC and various physical property testing
Safely handle (loading and unloading of bulk trucks, totes and drums) hazardous chemicals including methanol, flouroboric acid, and organic acids
Follow safe operating procedures and review and offer updates as necessary
Monitor all critical operating parameters and make adjustments to the process as necessary
The Process Technician will work closely with the Area Supervisor and will run analytical tests on in-process and finished product in the Laboratory.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in a chemical processing environment
Experience in a batch chemical operation
Ability to read, write, and speak English.
Be detail minded with the ability to work independently and with others.
Able to work overtime, including weekends and holidays as required.
Familiarity with computers and process control systems
