WDS currently has an immediate, full-time opening for the position of Warehouse Tote Filler at our Muscatine, Iowa branch.  This is a 1st shift position.

Only candidates that are highly motivated, customer-oriented, team players but also capable of working independently in a fast-paced industrial environment need apply.  Forklift safety training and certification will be required and provided by WDS upon hire. This position involves extensive heavy lifting, bending and reaching, as well as demands great attention to detail. The position will be performed within a distribution warehouse environment subject to climate changes.  The duties performed will include but are not limited to, filling plastic totes with fasteners and other hardware parts of varying quantities, keeping shelves stocked with filled totes and operating a wireless warehouse scanner to move the inventory in the system as you work.  May also be asked to pick/fill orders, make deliveries to customers and other warehouse duties as needed.

Successful candidates must have the ability and willingness to perform essential physical functions of the warehouse including, but not limited to, frequently lifting up to 50 pounds at a time.   • Performs manual or machine-supported filling, assembly, labeling, packaging and packing of company and 3rdparty products. Assembles components in proper sequence using appropriate devices.

    Visually inspects assemblies for proper fit of components, operates test jigs, records readings or results. Manually fills or operates filling equipment for type of product and sizes of containers specified. Labels tubes, or containers, apply labels to boxes, cans, pails, etc.

    Operates label application equipment. Puts packaged product into boxes, seals boxes by manually applying tape or operating a taping machine. Inserts components into bags or containers per instructions and seals bag on a sealing machine.

    Completes assembly for the number of tubes, containers, labels or other items required for each work order; performs basic calculations to determine amounts of material required to complete work order. Lifts filled boxes of components from stand; places on pallets or stack in assigned area. Awareness of hazard code labels; follows approved precautions and procedures.

Record all necessary documentation and set a cylinder aside for settled pressure checks. • Operate and safely maintain equipment for pumping or repackaging gases into cylinders. • Perform all required pre-fill and post-fill inspections and tests before cylinders are released. • Ensure cylinders are adequately maintained.
