Job Summary:

The CRNA administers anesthetic care for the purpose of facilitating diagnostic, therapeutic and surgical procedures.


Responsibilities:

  • Performs and documents a pre-anesthetic assessment and evaluation of the patient.
  • Develops and implements an anesthetic plan of care, including monitoring modalities and post-anesthesia follow-up evaluation and care.
  • Selects, obtains and administers the anesthetic plan of care, including induction, maintenance and emergence phase anesthesia.
  • Recognizes alterations in physiologic responses to the surgical procedure and/or the anesthetic, takes appropriate action and notifies the responsible physician as indicated.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Transports critically ill patients to the OR, to the ICU's or radiology when required.
  • Attends and participates in in-service training and various educational programs for professional development to stay knowledgeable about developments in the field of nurse anesthesia.
  • Participates in the training of nurse anesthesia students, residents, and MSP paramedics regarding nurse anesthesia practices and basic airway management skills.

    • Certified Advanced Life Support specializing in Health Service Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
    • Certified BLS Provider specializing in Health Service Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. Or military CPR-First Aid training.
    • Certified Nurse Anesthetist credentialed from the National Board of Certification and Recertification of Nurse Anesthetists (NBCRNA) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
    • Current licensure as a Nurse Anesthesia from the Maryland Board of Nursing.

POSITION SUMMARY: The anesthesiologist provides services to patients undergoing surgery or diagnostic studies requiring sedation or anesthesia.

This includes consultations with surgeons and appropriate subspecialists; pre-anesthetic evaluation and preparation; inter-operative anesthesia and monitoring, and post-anesthetic care. The anesthesiologist is also responsible for life support, including airway management, respiratory care, and other forms of physiologic support throughout the hospital and clinics when required. Additionally, the anesthesiologist provides technical oversight and assistance to the hospital’s conscious sedation team. The anesthesiologist also participates in continuing medical education, the education of medical students, residents, student anesthetists and nurses. ESSENTIAL QUALITIES AND RESPONSIBILITY Qualifications: 1.

Degree of doctor of medicine (M.D.) or osteopathy (D.O.) 2. Successful completion of a training program in anesthesiology accredited by the Accreditation Council of Graduate Medical Education (ACGME), or the American Osteopathic Association (AOA) or equivalent organization. 3. Current, full and unrestricted license to practice medicine in the State of Louisiana. 4.

A clinic in Colorado needs an anesthesiologist for a three-month locum tenens opening. On the job the locum will administer anesthesia for a variety of surgical cases including:

ENT, gynecologic, vascular, orthopedic, and other routine surgeries. Additionally, the locum will also be responsible for placing central and arterial lines as needed. This facility sees an annual volume around 36k surgical cases.

This position has full-time hours where the locum can expect to work 7am - 7pm, Monday through Friday. Candidates for this position must be board certified and comfortable seeing children to receive consideration.
