The Scientist, Analytical Development will be responsible for 1) Support drug discovery and process development with analysis by high / ultra performance liquid chromatography (HPLC / UPLC), and mass spectrometry based assays for identification, and purity determination of siRNA pre-clinical products. 2) Characterization and re-qualification of Early-phase Reference Materials. 3) Author and review of Analytical Development documents, including reports, standard test methods, protocols and Certificates of Testing. 4) Support investigation of atypical / OOS (Out Of Specification) results using liquid chromatography and mass spectrometry based techniques. 5) Maintenance of mass spectrometers and HPLC / UPLC instruments in analytical development laboratories, independently and in collaboration with contractors. Position requires approximately 75% time on hands-on bench work.
Summary of Key Responsibilities
Perform testing and data analysis of siRNA supporting RNA synthesis, Process Sciences, Toxicology groups. Generate and interpret analytical data (LC-MS, UV-VIS, IEX, ELISA) for siRNA purity determination and sequence/structure characterization.
Perform duplex annealing and duplex QC and characterization in support of activities in the Research Department. Prepare data packages using LIMS for CofT generation.
Perform in-house characterization and re-qualification of early-phase Reference Materials. Maintain inventory and uninterrupted supply of Reference Materials for external CROs and internal Alnylam groups.
Develop, optimize and qualify QC assays and evaluate new analytical methods as necessary to expand the current capabilities.
Understand and apply advanced scientific principles, theories, concepts, practices and standards to process and analytical development.
Author and review Analytical Development reports, standard test methods and protocols.
Provide analytical support externally to suppliers, CMOs, and internally to PD, drug discovery, QC, manufacturing, supply chain, QA, handling, and / or laboratory investigations (deviations, OOS).
Keep current with the broader scientific knowledge in the area of expertise and support the advance of scientific technology in AD.
Master's or Bachelor's degree with > 5 years or > 10 years biopharmaceutical experience respectively, with demonstrated chromatographic separation and structure elucidation expertise.
Strong knowledge of fundamental liquid phase chromatographic separation mechanisms, proven years of excellent hands-on method development and optimization experience on HPLC, UPLC and LC/MS for separation of molecules and isomers.
Self-motivated, excellent communication, writing and reviewing skills.
Familiarity with Waters and Agilent (U)HPLC hardware. Familiarity with Empower, Chemstation, and XCalibur are preferred.
Experience in technical oversight of outsourced analytical work is a plus.
Direct experience in characterization of liquid chromatography separation systems (hardware) and evaluating their impact on method transfer to external labs is a plus.
Experience with oligonucleotide assays is preferred.

1.Place sleeves on the forks when transporting all dies without feet.

Taking lamination to furnace
1.Remove lamination from progressive and cell staging area.
2.Place with like laminations in furnace area.
3.Remove scrap laminations if necessary.
1.All scrap hoppers in lamination
2.All trash hoppers in lamination
1.Under Prabb Chute let them fill to capacity, but not too full.
2.Take outside with Bigfoot when full and replace with an empty Grossman hopper.
1.Pallets: keep all locations in department full, keep extras inside out of the weather and unload pallet truck when it comes in.
2.Plywood: keep all locations full and bring it in from the furnace area.
3.Lubricant: unload full containers off of truck and load empties on the truck, set full container up at mixer when needed and remove empty one prior to.
1.Take any lamination in staging areas to the furnace
2.Empty all scrap and trash hoppers.
3.Check Grossman hoppers at Prabb area and remove if necessary and replace with empty hopper.
Production Parts Dept.
1.Place sleeves on the forks when transporting all dies without feet.

4.Place dies in correct location on die racks.
1.Take parts out and put parts in.
2.Stack pallets, when able to.
3.Stack baskets (small baskets from Abbott go 6 high and our large baskets go 5 high.

1.Keep pallets stocked at all locations in department.
2.Bring extras in out of weather
3.Unload lubricants off truck and put in proper rack.

2.Male sure there are plenty of pallets stacked up in all locations in department.
3.Make sure all empty baskets and bins are taken outside.
1.You may have coils, parts, baskets or lumber to unload.
1.Place lamination in correct location, communicating with Team Leader in department.
2.Make sure you stack lamination straight.
1.Always keep dock area cleared off, by putting boxed lamination in correct area of shipping dock (try to keep partial boxes on the top).
2.Take unlabeled boxes to lamination Non Con area.

Production Tool Room
1.Bring in and take out dies.
2.Keep dies organized and in a rack if there is a location for them.
3.Bring in bolster plates to be cleaned or repaired.
4.Take dies with a green H in paper work to the press from Toolroom.
5.Bring in various types of parts when necessary.
1.At start of shift complete inspection sheet and turn it in once a week.
2.Make sure fork truck is placed on the charger, when needed
1.Make sure all trash is removed from the truck.
High School Diploma required. Experience driving a fork truck is required. Preferred experience in a manufacturing environment, specifically in a stamping plant.

Key Performance Areas

Responsible for performing a variety of heat treat functions on parts made of various alloys to promote change of physical properties of various metals for toughness and strength.

Responsible for maintenance and repair of Intevac Photonics production equipment. Also responsible for scheduling equipment calibration and organizing calibration documentation. Candidate should be team oriented, motivated and possess strong troubleshooting skills.
Maintenance and repair of production equipment. This includes:
Semiconductor Processing Equipment (etching and sputtering systems, furnaces, plasma asher, laser anneal system, etc.)
Back-end Processing Equipment (wirebonders, flip chip bonders, etc.)
Ultra High Vacuum systems
MOCVD Growth Reactors
Schedule and support test equipment calibration (power supplies, meters, etc.)
Develop and document maintenance procedures
Correspond with equipment vendors to manage the repair or the installation of production equipment
Track chemical and gas usage in production
Strong troubleshooting skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Proactive and very detail oriented
Strong work ethic and ability to multitask
Ability to work under minimal supervision
US Citizenship is required
AS degree with 5+ years experience
Express Maintenance experience is desired
Calibration Database experience (such as CERDAAC) is desired

What will your role be?
As the Optimize Solution Architect, you will be responsible for the design and implementation of the advanced planning and scheduling software at one of our key customers. You will lead workshops in which the to-be process roadmap for planning and scheduling will be defined i.e. what responsibility is taken by which product, how do the products interact with each other, and how will the products be implemented. In a Quality Assurance capacity, you will monitor the work of the implementation teams to make sure that the solution delivered to the customer is of high quality, fits within the overall vision, and aligns with the other product implementation teams.

The challenges ahead
Manage long term relationship with a customer throughout the life time of sales and implementation process to become a trusted advisor for the client
Understand and communicate where and how supply chain optimization will benefit the organization
Lead operational value assessment activities around manufacturing, including, but not limited to, value assessment, project leadership, financial and operational analysis, resource coordination, implementation plan definition and value assessment delivery to client executives (C-level).
Extend the current operational value assessment program packaging, enhancing, and modifying to meet Quintiq's current strategy and objectives.
Provide required training and mentoring to insure that field teams are capable of executing operational value assessment's Project scoping and Process map
Manage and coordinate process value map analysis: As-Is and To-Be process functional definition
Articulate a functional requirement to be used for General design work collaboratively with others providing strategy, guidance, tactics and industry knowledge
Team work with services architect to articulate a proper economical solution for the customer in relation with the evaluated and perceived value delivery Quintiq contribution
Establish and leverage relationships with direct workforce and production management
Actively contribute and support, as needed, corporate sales, and marketing activities
Your key success factors?
6-10 years of software services consulting experience, preferably in a supply-chain/manufacturing related industry
Strong knowledge of optimization best practices
Operations Research or other experience with advanced algorithms, including but not limited to, linear programming, CPLEX, genetic algorithms, simulated annealing in order to drive better decision making
Familiarity with production planning techniques used by production operations
Exposure and knowledge of Fortune 500 level production and manufacturing capabilities through application or vendor/integrator/partner
Working knowledge of production planning and scheduling requirements and application including finite capacity, master production scheduling and material logistics
Strong leadership and team management skills. Should be able to manage teams spread across different geographies.
Proven ability to document, deliver and effectively sell business case proposals
Knowledge about Manufacturing Executions System (MES)/Manufacturing Operations Management (MOM) systems is a plus
Business Process fit-gap analysis
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Have a passion for improving software and improving organizations through software
Travel up to 25%
