Plating And Anodizing Process Engineer, Staff

The candidate will be responsible for performing professional engineering examination and evaluation of Lam’s suppliers for surface treatments including polymer coatings, anodizing, plating, and precision cleaning. The ideal candidate will play an active role managing projects and products relative to supplier manufacturing development, quality initiatives, supplier selection, problem solving as well as designing and conducting independent experiments and tests. Project management duties include working with cross-functional teams consisting of supply business management, engineering, manufacturing, field service and suppliers to provide feedback and requirements during new product development through to production release. Candidates need to exhibit excellent problem solving skills: defining the problem, identifying objectives, assessing risk, developing approach, analyzing results and providing recommendations. Ideal candidate will direct and independently manage manufacturing process/quality implementation of required changes and modifications at suppliers. A Sr. Staff Engineer candidate will provide leadership and mentorship in the surface treatments group.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Ensure suppliers’ manufacturing processes are in place to produce reliable products in a repeatable manner. Develop and audit quality control systems. Develop and drive supplier improvement plans.

  • Develop and execute plans for failure analysis on products returned from the field related to inorganic, organic, and particle contamination and material issues.

  • Coordinate development activities with suppliers and product groups in developing new products.

The Anodizing Coordinator has the responsibility and authority to carry out the assigned tasks described in the responsibility section of this job description.

Anodizing Coordinator is capable of setting up, programming and operating Anodizing equipment. Knowledge of blue prints, time management, and production floor organization are basic requirements for this position.

Responsibilities

I.Maintain a safe work environment.

Role Purpose

PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS IS A 2ND SHIFT POSITION.

SUMMARY

Lipskin manufacturing team member who is responsible for the operation of an automated aerospace certified anodize process. This role is essential part of achieving the cosmetic appearance and anticorrosion properties required for lipskins.

Key Responsibilities

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

--Use and or/interpret processing information from worksheets, shop travelers specifications, and other written or verbal instructions in accomplishing work assignments.

--Understand and utilize the controls and instruments on equipment to process materials properly.

--Verify, record, and/or sign off processing data on charts, logs, and other documentation as required.

--Utilize hand tools, power driven drills, etc., forklift, truck and overhead cranes.

--Inventory, inspect, and clean processed material.

--Perform equipment performance certification activities including chemical testing.

--Perform chemical transfer and waste water processing activities.

--Participate in regulatory and customer audits.

--Participate and contribute to cross functional high performance teams.

--Recognize diagnose, take any necessary in-process actions and report equipment malfunctions to supervision.

--All other duties as requires.

Qualifications / Experience / Skills

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

--High school degree or equivalent required.

--2+ years experience in a chemical processing or chemical manufacturing environment.

--Understanding of chemical safety, labeling and handling requirements.

--Must be able to read and understand written planning and follow verbal instructions.

--Experience in a highly regulated manufacturing environment preferred.

--Possess basic computer skills.
