Seeking highly self-motivated yet team-oriented individual with a commitment to evidence-based clinical care; rehabilitation program development and implementation; teaching; and research, to join the outstanding interdisciplinary team who collectively strive to deliver exemplary and value based, patient centered care.
The primary role of this position is to collaborate within an interdisciplinary team of physicians, nurses, physician assistants, psychologists, social workers, physical therapists, and pharmacists, to formulate and implement comprehensive assessment and treatment plans for complex adult pain patients. These individualized management plans are intended to alleviate pain; to maintain, improve, or restore physical and psychosocial function; and to prevent further debilitation and disability in these patients.
A central role of this position is to provide onsite assessment, reassessment, and initial as well as appropriately modified treatments; along with recommendations and resources for home-based or other offsite follow-up physical therapy care for patients, living either in close proximity or geographically distant from our clinics. This will require maintaining written documentation and generating charge capture for all physical therapy services rendered, including the initial assessment, follow-up visits, and discharge summary, consistent with organizational standards. This will necessitate developing and maintaining working relationships with physical therapy providers in the community to create a network of aligned providers. Onsite follow-up physical therapy care is provided for individuals living close to our facility, at the individual level and/or group-based level (e.g., exercise classes in combination with cognitive behavioral therapies co-delivered with a Pain Social Worker or Pain Psychologist). Texas Children's Hospital The Woodlands, the first hospital devoted to children's care for communities north of Houston, opened its doors in April 2017. Located in one of the fastest growing areas in north Houston, the hospital, which has a staff of over 600, has already provided thousands of patients with specialty care closer to home. The outpatient building, which opened in October 2016, includes 72 exam rooms and clinics for major pediatric specialties including cancer, cardiology, allergy/immunology/rheumatology and diabetes/endocrinology. The hospital's inpatient building features the area's only dedicated pediatric emergency center with 25 patient rooms, 32 acute care beds, four operating rooms, 12 radiology suites and 28 critical care rooms.

Research Physical Therapist, Sargent College, Physical Therapy/Ath Training (5608/C0118)
Highly motivated physical therapist to join Neuromotor Recovery Lab within BU's Department of Physical Therapy and Athletic Training. Must be interested in supporting the development and testing of new technologies and interventions designed to restore function, improve mobility and reduce physical disability after neurological injury/dysfunction. Duties include recruiting research participants, screening and consenting, monitoring individuals during study visits, collecting data, assisting with transfers and walking, managing the research registry, assisting with protocol development, manage and analyze clinical data, prepare reports and maintain regulatory and participant binders.
Doctorate of Physical Therapy required and valid Massachusetts licensure. Must be willing to tackle multiple projects simultaneously, willing to work at all levels to accomplish team goals and ability to work with patients, caregivers and staff in research and clinical settings.
Position is for an initial hire term of 1 year and is contingent upon the continued availability of funding. Position is at 75% time.
