Responsibilities:

  1. Operates at least one major piece of equipment on any of the fabricating lines.
  2. Perform all the daily basic safety checks and observations, quality checks, checklists, and housekeeping

  5. Utilizes computer interface panels to operate the equipment

Press Brake/Shearer Operator (2Nd Shift)

The Press Brake/Shearer Operator sets up and operates the press brake to perform a variety of complex forming and bending operations on sheet stock. Calculates layout from profile dimensions to accurately size material required. Sets up and operates power shear to cut metal or plastic objects such as plates, sheets, slabs billets or bars to specified dimensions and angle.

  • Ensures that all guards and safety devices are installed and operating properly. Performs required equipment safety inspections. Reports any discrepancies to Production Supervisor and shuts the equipment down if necessary.

  • Installs the correct forming dies for the press brake operation involved to produce the shapes specified in work sheet and/or indicated by drawings.

  • Sets dies and stop gauges and adjust ram stroke for varying thickness of material.

JOB SUMMARY:

Punch press operators are responsible for setting up and operating a variety of punch presses and other miscellaneous machines such as washers, blasters, and off-setters to produce sidebars, attachments and miscellaneous components. Operations within the department include, blanking, offsetting, hot forming, piercing and other jobs assigned. The job includes setting up and running parts to Rexnord quality standards, ensuring press is in good operating conditions, properly documenting properly filled out all required paperwork, and area is kept clean and orderly.
