Occasionally lifts heavier items with the assistance of other workers or with lifting devices such as jacks, hoists, and cranes. Responsibilities Incumbent keeps all sailboats and powerboats at the Outdoor Recreation Center Marina operational and well maintained


. This will include: Diagnosis, maintenance and repair of outboard marine engines; periodic preventative maintenance servicing of marine engines; engine tune-ups of outboard motors and other minor repairs.

Diagnoses, maintenance and repair of sailboats and motorboats. Maintains maintenance records on all equipment repaired, annotating man-hours, materials, and other required data; major haul-out repairs, sailboat rigging and hull repair/painting; and on-the-spot repair and maintenance. Work is assigned orally through work orders by the supervisor indicating the nature of the problem.

Incumbent selects tools, decides on techniques and carries out assignments. Routine repair and maintenance duties are accomplished independently. Work is checked for compliance with instructions, specifications, and standard shop practices.

Requires frequent standing, bending, stooping, lifting and working in tight spaces. Occasionally moves moderately heavy items with assistance or mechanical devices. Work is performed inside and outside.

EVALUATIONS: ### Qualifications Must demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of mechanical principles to perform the disassembly, examination, repair, modification, overhaul, reassemble of marine engines, as well as the maintenance and repair of auxiliary systems of outboard engines. Must demonstrate comprehensive knowledge and experience to various aspects of marine vessel repairs.

The employee must have ability to read and interpret work requirements from drawings, sketches and specification documents. Must be able to use measuring devices and precision instruments and to work to close tolerances. Outboard Motor repair certification is desired. Must be able to lift up to 45 lbs unassisted; over 45 lbs with assistance.

Responsibilities Ensures all life support equipment meets strict airworthiness criteria and that it will sustain combat operations


/readiness by inspecting, testing, calibrating, certifying, diagnostic evaluating, troubleshooting, repairing/replacing, assembling and disassembling all aircrew life support equipment, aircrew chemical/biological defense equipment, and aircraft ejection/non-ejection systems. Certifies Aircrew Life Support equipment requirements for all missions; and ensures aircraft are properly configured with proper types and numbers of aircrew life support equipment dependent on destination and mission being flown.

Utilizes a variety of complex state of the art diagnostic testers/systems/specialty tools to ensure systems are calibrated to Technical Orders (T.O.'s) and factory specifications. The incumbent plans, organizes, develops, directs, implements, evaluates, and conducts Survival, Evasion, Resistance, and Escape (SERE) training activities. Certifies initial and continuation training of aircrew and other personnel. Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications


WG-10 Specialized Experience: Must possess 18 months of specialized experience or training that demonstrates knowledge of aviation life support equipment. The specialized experience must also demonstrate your ability to utilize a variety of complex, state of the art, diagnostic testers, systems and special tools to test, troubleshoot, and repair equipment; read and interpret military manuals; experience in supply procedures and property accountability; collect information and present it to various sized groups; and plan a functional shop maintenance program. WG-08 Specialized Experience: Must possess 12 months of specialized experience that demonstrates your ability to utilize a variety of complex, state of the art, diagnostic testers, systems and special tools to test, troubleshoot, and repair equipment; knowledge of supply operations such as performing administrative functions in inventory, storage, cataloging, receipt and control processes and ensure material and equipment are properly stored, protected and maintained; utilize, maintain, and update multiple computer main frame programs/data bases to analyze, troubleshoot, schedule, and maintain inspection and accountability reports/documentation; and knowledge of handling, shipping, storing, and ordering multiple hazardous materials to include munitions/ammunition assets.

General Experience: Must possess experience or training which demonstrates knowledge of materials and equipment used in the line of work such as helmets, torso harness assemblies, parachutes, survival equipment, etc., ability to understand written instructions; and to use reference materials and manuals.

Job DescriptionTrucks. Bulldozers. Power shovels. These are the types of machinery that you will work on as a Construction Vehicle Repairer in the Army National Guard. In doing so, you will join the Army National Guard on the road to success.

As a Construction Vehicle Repairer you will maintain and replace brake actuators, batteries, starter motors, alternators, mechanical fuel pumps, and hydraulic cylinders; adjust engine speed governor/valves, carburetors, dry-disc clutches, steering brakes, and fuel injector racks; charge suspension accumulators, transmission shift accumulators and main hydraulic accumulators; troubleshoot problems in vehicle engines, electrical systems, steering, brakes, and suspensions; tune up and repair engines; replace or repair damaged body parts, hydraulic arms, shovels, and grader blades; and establish and follow maintenance schedules.

Your Army National Guard training will prepare you for all maintenance, troubleshooting, repairing, tuning, and other duties necessary to keep the Guard's construction vehicles running at peak performance. It will also set you up for a rewarding civilian career with auto and construction equipment dealers and farm equipment companies.
