Basic Purpose of Position: In addition to the responsibilities below, the Applications Programmer will be responsible for the overall success of software design, database creation, and the implementation of procedures and standards used in the programming of controls projects.
A key member of the Albireo team, the Applications Programmer will be responsible for developing program and operator interface graphics of building automation systems to include, but not limited to:
- Review of project specifications, drawings and project specific documents to establish project intent.
- Breakdown scope of work into manageable segments and post to Project Manager for scheduling.
- Attend or receive meeting minutes from graphics review meetings with customers.
- Posting project programming specific “Request for Information: (RFI) documentation to Application Engineer, Project Manager and Operations Manager.
- Follow sequence of operations as required by project documents and engineered sequence of operations, utilizing established standards.
- Production of project specific as-builts based upon initial project construction drawings and field modification mark-ups.
- Graphic development and creation using TGML, while following and helping to improve company standards
- Work independently or be part of small collaborative teams.
- Work with field technicians to troubleshoot and take corrective action to software issues.
- Troubleshoot and correct BMS integration issues.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Computer Science is preferred.
- Degree may be offset by 5-7 years of experience with the production of ATC/BAS systems.
- Understanding of mechanical HVAC equipment.
- Thorough understanding of electrical and network wiring and the programming of BAS components.
- Excellent computer skills and strong understanding of MS Office products (Word, Excel, Access); AutoCAD, Visual Basic, Visio.
- Effective interpersonal skills to represent the company to customers and other outside contacts in an ethical and professional manner.

General Statement of Duties:
The Application Developer develops database as well as other web and mobile applications to support the needs of the organization. The Berkeley Seismological Laboratory (BSL) operates and maintains several networks of traditional geophysical instruments in Northern and Central California. The data collected is archived for research purposes as well as analyzed in real-time, one purpose of which is Earthquake Early Warning, which is currently being developed by the BSL along with other university partners and the USGS. One novel approach to Earthquake Early Warning is to use cell phones and other mobile devices to detect earthquakes, which is what the BSL has achieved with the MyShake project.
In the near future, the MyShake project will not only be detecting earthquakes but will also be providing Earthquake Early Warning alerts. This position exists for the development and support of back-end and mobile application software, such as MyShake, as well as for the software development needs of other BSL projects.
Designs, develops, modifies, debugs and evaluates code as needed for back-end services and mobile applications, such as MyShake, as well as for other BSL projects.
Monitors and troubleshoots the overall health of back-end services and processes, performing any daily operational procedures that are not automated.
Interacts with senior level internal personnel and meets with other team members, including the training and assisting of users in the use of custom-built operational and research tools.
Develops and executes performance/integration testing and coordinated deployment of back-end services, as well as tiered app releases.

JOB FAMILY DESCRIPTION
Works closely with customers, business analysts, and team members to understand business requirements that drive the analysis and design of quality technical solutions. These solutions must be aligned with business and IT strategies and comply with the organization's architectural standards. Involved in the full systems life cycle, design, coding, testing, implementation, maintenance and support of applications software that is delivered on time and within budget. Responsibilities may also include participation in component and data architecture design, performance monitoring and product evaluation. GENERAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Provides java automation development of projects involving application development, migrations, and additions to existing applications.
Participates in project meetings with other technical staff, business owners and subject matter experts.
Assesses and develops design requirements for project and communicates in writing or in meetings with development team while assessing detailed specifications against design requirements.
Uses IBM Rational Functional Tester (RFT) or other automation tools to turn QA test cases to Java in a manner that promotes code reuse while reducing the cost to maintain.
Reviews application in progress of development to ensure compliance with overall design parameters and corporate development standards.
Develops and/or reviews development of test protocols for testing application before user acceptance.
Reviews test results and directs further development.
Converts test scripts to Java
May provide, or guide provision of technical support to applications currently in production.
Performs other related duties as assigned.

Business Applications Programmer Analyst
The Business Applications Programmer Analyst is responsible for the design, creation, support and maintenance of enterprise Shriners Hospitals for Children (SHC) business software solutions. These applications may be custom developed or purchased solutions. These solutions include but are not limited to: Hyland OnBase ECM, Blackbaud CRM, Infor Lawson ERP, and Kronos. Responsibilities include solution development and implementation, application administration, end user support, management of system back-ends including user account provisioning, security, system upgrades and patches, and SQL Server database administration.
The Business Applications Programmer Analyst is responsible for supporting the financial ERP operations of the organization. Responsibilities include monitoring Lawson EFT banking transfers, Lawson budgeting, Lawson payroll processing, financial report creation, Lawson business process automation, government reporting, accounts payable check printing, and end user support.
The qualified candidate will have experience in the following areas:
2 or more years of IS experience in role as Software Developer, Database Administrator, Application Administrator, or Systems Administrator required
Strong Infor Lawson Application experience at both functional and technical layers required, with demonstrable understanding of Infor Lawson security practices
Experience with UI customization using Design Studio required
Proficiency required in one or more of the following report-writing tools: Microsoft SSRS, Crystal Reports or Cognos, or other reporting tools
Experience with administration and support of relational databases (MS SQL, Oracle) required
Experience with Lawson version 10.x preferred
Experience with Lawson Business Intelligence (LBI) administration preferred
