Under the direction of Manager, Center of Excellence, this position has several areas of responsibility supporting the procurement and logistics functions. This includes support of Oracle Transportation Management System (OTM). OTM is a cloud based application used to select transportation providers to move Sonoco freight. Prepares detailed specifications from which programs will be written. Develops and modifies complex systems and develops subsystems to enhance the overall operational system. Analyzes and revises existing system logic difficulties and documentation as necessary.
Analyzes methods of approach. Reviews task proposal requirements, gathers information, analyzes data, prepares project synopses, compares alternatives, prepares specifications for programs, resolves processing problems, coordinates work with programmers, and orients users to new systems. Performs all functional duties independently. Works on high-visibility programs, or mission critical aspects of assigned program(s). Oversees the efforts of direct reporting resources and/or is responsible for the efforts of all staff assigned to a specific job.
- A minimum of ten (10) years experience in business analysis, software development and/or related field; • A degree from an accredited College/University in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Business or related discipline is preferred; • Able to perform all functional duties independently on high-visibility programs, or mission critical aspects of a given program; • Able to oversee the efforts of direct reporting resources and/or be responsible for the efforts of all staff assigned to a specific job; • Experience training/mentoring less experienced personnel; • Extensive knowledge of and experience in software requirements elicitation and scope definition through research, fact-finding, or user interviews; • Extensive experience applying analytical techniques to gather information from users, define work problems, design a software solution, and/or develop procedures to resolve the work problems; • Extensive experience reviewing task proposal requirements, gathering information, analyzing data, preparing task/project synopses, performing comparative analyses, preparing specifications, resolving processing problems, coordinating work with developers, and orienting users; • Be a US Citizen, have earned permanent residence status (Green Card), or have lived in the US for the past 5 years; • Able to obtain a permanent clearance; • Excellent communication skills.

SAP Applications Systems Analyst – Plant Maintenance
Reviews, analyzes and evaluates complex SAP business processes and user needs for various business units. Documents requirements, defines scope and objectives, and formulates systems to parallel overall business strategies. Performs complex system configuration and workflow designs in an integrated application environment. Employs experience in a variety of concepts, practices and procedures including FICO, Materials Management, and complex maintenance/repair/overhaul of public transit systems related to bus and rail. Performs duties in a safe, efficient manner and in compliance with all applicable rules and safety procedures.
Responsibilities and Specific Duties
Reviews, analyzes and evaluates complex SAP business processes and user needs.
Prepares high-quality documentation of scope requirements and objectives in both written and graphical format, for complex systems processes.
Develops system configuration and workflow designs for highly complex systems.
Performs complex data retrievals utilizing common data extraction tools.
Builds and manages effective partnerships with business units and IT groups.
Prepares and delivers timely, well organized and informative presentation of work for management.
Leads integrated system testing efforts to ensure system functions as designed.
Develops training materials and conducts training classes as needed.
Applies project management "best practice" skills to prioritize and deliver project objectives. Follows established change or release management procedures to move changes through the landscape.
Manages multiple assignments and projects with competing priorities.
Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.
Promotes safety awareness and follows safety procedures in an effort to reduce or eliminate accidents.

Minimum Qualifications/ Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or related field is preferred.
Minimum six (6) years of experience in relevant SAP Plant Maintenance and Materials Management analysis. Advanced experience with standard office software and diagraming software, processes and tools such as SAP plant maintenance (SAP PM), SAP Fiori UI, SAP BW reports and SAP BOBJ WEBI UI. Experience with data development environments such as SQL Server and/or HANA, SAP ABAP, SAP Adhoc Query, SAP Report Painter, and SAP Info Set Management.
Knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices and procedures within fields outside of IT. Ability to apply technical understanding to complex technical solutions. Strong knowledge of project management best practices. Excellent communications (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills. Strong listening skills to facilitate the presentation of ideas and recommendations. SAP ERP, APICS, Business Process Re-engineering and Change Management certifications preferred.
