Apprentice cooks are responsible for learning and executing the preparation of individual stations as set by the restaurant chef's standards. You are responsible for prepping, cooking and stocking all items within a given station by following set recipes and cooking practices created for the given outlet. Also maintaining general cleanliness of kitchen i.e. Trash, dishes and general cleaning
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Assists in preparation of assigned menu items according to standardized recipes and specifications.
Chops, dices, and cuts the various meats, cheeses, vegetables and fruits for salad and sandwich preparation using hand knives and electric slicer.
Assist in combining the various ingredients and plates the entrees, salads, sandwiches, desserts, ice cream, beverages and appetizers for service to the guest and or appropriate wait staff.
Prepares all given items for a station in accordance with restaurant needs.
Learns and performs various job duties that will include operation of grill, fryer, and French-top in accordance to the restaurant needs.
Maintains the required par of food items in their assigned station.
Ensures ingredient supply levels are accurate.
Must move items from shelves to carts and transport to assigned stations for restocking purposes.
Maintains a high level of service while interacting with co-workers and wait staff.
Observes all safety rules and regulations.
Makes sure all areas assigned are clean and free of debris.
Maintains proper food levels at all times to ensure that all guests receive high quality products as defined by company standards.
Coordinates with the station leader to ensure proper par levels or the next day's product needs.
Takes all appropriate actions to ensure quality and to reduce waste as directed by the Executive Chef.
Maintains proper food rotation procedures at all times for all items.

Under the direction of the foreman and the Operator, this employee has the full responsibility of setting up and operating the machine(s) to insure that quality products are achieved at a consistent rate of speed in accordance with machine.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Set up and operate machine in a consistent manner as instructed.
In conjunction with this, maintain the procedures concerning proper set up and operation unless a change is approved and properly recorded.
Before beginning each set up, thoroughly familiarize yourself with the work order paying particular attention to any special instructions.
Also, fill in the production report with all information that is available.
To begin set up, remove the parts from the machine that will not be used on the run.
Check the parts for wear or damage, notify the foreman of any repairs needed by filling out a work request form.
Begin the set up at the feed section; adjust the feed pads for proper spacing, adjust feed gates to the feed blanks being glued and for proper belt clearances to assure a straight and smooth flow through the feed section.
Fit attachments onto the machine and make adjustments to assure proper windowing; resulting in a quality product that will run as fast or faster than target speeds that is shown on the jacket.
Adjust the stacking section of the machine to assure that the blanks are stacking uniformly.
Set and adjust glue system.
Gluing is accomplished by pumping glue from a 55-gallon drum into glue pot located on the machine.
The pump is hand cranked and has a hose that will reach from the drum to the glue pot.
Observe safety procedures when setting up and operating the equipment.
Be responsible for all equipment and tools assigned to him and/or the machine and notify the foreman of any additional tools or equipment that would add to the efficiency and safety of the operation.
Clean and or oil any parts that need servicing g.
Store all unused machine parts in their designated places and recommend replacement and or repair of all worn parts.
Analyze and correct production problems as they occur and ask the foreman for assistance when needed.
Follow all instructions that are issued on the work jacket and advise the foreman of any incorrect and non-recorded information that is necessary for proper set up and operation.
Be responsible for the quality of the product manufactured concerning folding, gluing, packaging, labeling and stacking.
See that the pallet loads are accurately counted and entered to the production report and the pallets properly tagged.
See that the work area and machine is kept clean and that the machine is operated in a safe manner.

On the Job Training
Partner with assigned service team members to learn how to effectively and efficiently resolve resident service requests. Receive training to become familiar with general processes and technical concepts, related to the preparation of all market-ready apartments, which may include, but is not limited to, the following:
Interior repairs: Make cosmetic repairs to finish carpentry, window coverings and wall coverings.
Plumbing: Clear clogs, repair plumbing fixtures and attach/shut off water supply line.
Appliances: Check for operation and install new appliances as needed.
Electrical: Replace electrical components and other basic electrical tasks
HVAC: Check for normal operation and perform preventative maintenance

Demonstrate these skills and processes as the training period progresses by working independently or with a team to perform tasks as instructed.
Perform maintenance tasks as instructed by training staff to gain hands-on experience and demonstrate proficiency.
Learn computer software applications relevant to service team members, including MRI, ERNIE and Google Apps.
Learn essential day to day operational functions, such as company policies, timekeeping, employee safety, accessing online information through Equity's intranet, email, and other various tasks as assigned.
Complete e-learning training modules and instructor led training in a timely-manner as instructed by training staff.
Apply classroom knowledge to the workplace and upholds the company policies to ensure a positive and safe work environment for all team members.
Communicate with your team, asking for clarification and additional instruction as needed.
Actively participate in training exercises and completes tasks in a timely fashion.
Perform other duties or special projects as assigned.
General ability to demonstrate mechanical aptitude
Availability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends
Valid driver's license and/or access to reliable transportation
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Adaptability, willingness to learn, multi-tasking and sound decision making abilities are required and essential to the success of this role
High school diploma or equivalent
Trade school and/or military training
Computer proficiency is strongly desired.
