Provide support for the 1st Press Operator and assist in the daily operation of the web press including controlling register, compensation, and other operational duties as directed by the 1st Press Operator.
Monitor overall job quality, including print registration and product compensation. Identify and correct quality defects.
Accurately perform and record quality assurance tests (quality control checks).
Monitor packing quality and accuracy, maintaining accurate counts and load ticket paper work.
Organize and monitor imaging process, signoffs, restarts, form changes, samples, additional paperwork, and QC procedures.
Assist first press operator with coordinating make-ready plan.
Map out job plan by using layout, folding dummy, and instructions from the 1st press operator to establish measurements for plows, slitters, die cuts, gum pads, etc.
In addition to plows and slitters, install and set any auxiliary equipment such as face slitters, hot melt applicators, and extrusion glue needles.
Establish web path and turn bar configuration.
Manage web up procedure including ribbon orientation and timing.
Monitor the rest of the crew's progress during the make-ready. Offer assistance as necessary.
Perform minor repairs and maintenance such as roller replacement, and press lubrication.
Assist 1st Press Operator in providing direction and training to the press crew.
Insure that safe practices are followed by crew members during all operations and procedures.
Be able to step in for the 1st Press Operator as needed.
Must be able to work 7:00 pm to 7:00 am shift, 3 days on/4 days off, (Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday, Friday, Saturday, alternating on an 8 week rotation). Opportunities for overtime.

Job Summary
Following SOP's and cGMPs, the Machine Operator will operate a variety of production machines including, but not limited to: liquid filling machines, tablet packaging machines, tablet wrapping machines, tube filling machines and tablet press production.
Duties and Responsibilities

Press Operator (Nights)
SUMMARY OF POSITION: Operates and tends all types of production machines such as several different types of punch presses and feed systems, 4 slide machines, cut-off saws, deburring machines, drill presses and lathes to produce production parts of various metals to include steel, aluminum copper and other resistive materials, as well as some non-metallic materials.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Receives work assignments in the form of blueprint, technical specification, sketch or drawing from Supervisor / Production Coordinator as to type of parts that are to be produced. May consult with Supervisor / Coordinator regarding completeness of the specifications, prints, or sketches and to set up proper tooling, stock feeders, or whatever required for proper machine to produce part.
Set-up stamping line per specifications and ensure all raw materials are present and correct. When appropriate advise die makers of the set-up required for the product you will be running. This may involve the use of any or all the equipment described above.
At completion of set-up, run an appropriate sample and ensure inspection is performed as required by the appropriate specification.
Run products as assigned. Operate manual feed presses and/or RH lines if assigned per appropriate specification
Loads coil stock material onto de-reeler and starts coil stock into dies at proper place as to insure proper tool care
Loads material onto stock feeder reel. When lead frame parts are made, and parts are put onto take-up reels with interleave paper.
Ensure all finished stock is properly packaged labeled and ultimately packaged and ready to send to your customer, after Quality acceptance.
Qualified operator and collateral inspector, if assigned to lead-frame production lines.
Education
High school diploma or equivalent.
A familiarity with punch presses, pressroom terminology, equipment, and processes, normally obtained in working at least 3 months to 1 year in a similar work situation.
Experience
Equipment utilization: Use of machine tools to include lathe, high-speed punch press, cut-off saws, de-burring equipment, drill presses and associated equipment.
Skills / Certifications
Must be able to handle and occasionally lift up to 60 pounds as well as manipulate a wide size and weight range of metal stock and related materials. Must be able to stand for prolonged periods and remain on feet for most of the workday.
Safety Glasses and Hearing protection are required throughout the shop. Depending on you assignment you may also be required to use appropriate gloves for material handling and appropriate protective clothing if working in the tumbling area or assisting in the Mold Compound room. If assisting in the mold compound room you must be able to wear a respirator and be respirator trained.
Works in a busy pressroom environment, subject at times to noise, vibration, sharp work materials and tools, and moving equipment and machinery. May work under conditions of varying lighting levels and in restrictive workspaces.

EHS
Follow all plant-wide, department-specific environmental rules and procedures for the proper management of all Hazardous Waste. Support plant security procedures.
Operate the equipment with consideration of the environment and the safety of everyone in mind. Assure that all environmental controls and safety devices (i.e. press enclosures, guards, E-stops, lockouts, etc.) are in place and functional. Report all incidents and/or unsafe conditions which may include: first aid, illness, spills, improper/incomplete procedures and property damage.
Support EHS culture by active participation in workplace organization, operator preventative maintenance, and reducing workplace hazards. Understand all Do Not Touch Exceptions and how to perform tasks. Able to identify where all e-stops are located and how to re-set machine. Follow all Forklift Rules.
Primary
Prepare inks, films, plates, gears, etc. for scheduled job. Assist Press Operator in monitoring the product to ensure quality.
Assist in make-readies. Participate in the operation of the press with the ability to operate if needed. Order, Charge, and Return raw materials to each job as needed.
Complete necessary daily paperwork. Complete 7S/housekeeping logs. To facilitate and enforce all of the company policies and procedures as they are outlined and defined.
Awareness of and adherence to all suitable and relevant health and safety policies. Remove all scrap except flying splices before master rolls get moved to WIP area All other duties as assigned by Shift Manager and/or Management.

Press Operator
The Press Operator along with Plant 1 Press Lead or Shift Supervisor make up the normal two man crew required to operate the presses that vulcanize the uncured rubber coated fabric, in a timed heat pressure cure, to produce conveyor belting.
Responsibilities will include compliance to safety procedures for machine operation and ensuring all the press and tooling safety devices are properly used.
The Operator must follow all the production schedule instructions, the proper press operational procedures and the production order Bill of Material requirements. Operator must have the ability to read measuring tools, drive a fork lift and complete all the required paperwork. Calendering is the first step in our Production process and has the most influence on the cost of our products. Continuous improvement is a must for all personnel in this area.
Responsibilities include:
Change over for calender machines and identification of the most effective way to keep the machines running at all times.
Operation of machines and immediate reporting of any problems or issues to your Department Head or Supervisor using the proper channels and methods of communication.
To complete daily production reporting accurately. This includes all reports relating to Productivity, QC Holds, Material Usage, Material Movements, etc.
Follow all safety, corporate, and internal policies and procedures and requesting clarification from Department Head or Supervisor when necessary.
