  • Make ready and operate offset printing press.
  • Examine job order to determine quantity to print, stock specifications, colors and special printing instructions.
  • Examine offset printing plates for visual defects and apply correcting solution to repair minor defect or inform supervisor of unrepairable plates.
  • Apply packing sheet to blanket cylinder to build up blanket thickness to diameter of plate cylinder.
  • Measure paper thickness and adjust space between blanket and impression cylinders according to thickness of paper stock.

Education and/or Experience
Requires 10+ years of First or Second Pressman experience with an in-depth knowledge of the mechanics and capabilities of presses. Need to be able to accurately distinguish color variation. Journeyman or Master Printers of America Certification.  UV, KBA 105, and/or Heidelberg 8 Color experience and Komori is a plus.

Press Brake/Shearer Operator (2Nd Shift)

The Press Brake/Shearer Operator sets up and operates the press brake to perform a variety of complex forming and bending operations on sheet stock. Calculates layout from profile dimensions to accurately size material required. Sets up and operates power shear to cut metal or plastic objects such as plates, sheets, slabs billets or bars to specified dimensions and angle.

  • Ensures that all guards and safety devices are installed and operating properly. Performs required equipment safety inspections. Reports any discrepancies to Production Supervisor and shuts the equipment down if necessary.

  • Installs the correct forming dies for the press brake operation involved to produce the shapes specified in work sheet and/or indicated by drawings.

  • Sets dies and stop gauges and adjust ram stroke for varying thickness of material.

  • Calculates layout from profile dimensions to accurately size material required.

Job Descriptions:Position PurposeThe Press Operator is responsible for safely and efficiently operating assigned press(es) in order to produce high quality products. Work together with team members to exceed our customers’ requirements and expectations.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:Responsible for cycling / operation of rubber injection molding press(es), including following proper start up and shut down procedures. Review product and process for quality and efficiency. Suggestions for improvement are encouraged and will be given thoughtful consideration.

Trimming and de-flashing of rubber products. Inspection of parts produced to ensure parts meet all expected standards. Declare, document and separate non-conforming parts (2nd’s/rejects) from good parts per Defect Catalog.

Notify supervisor or manager at the time non-conforming parts are produced. Complete production tracking documentation prior to end of shift. Maintain a safe, efficient, ergonomic and clean work area and common area throughout shift, to include discarding trash as needed and at end of shift.

Request press maintenance through supervisor when the press is not running properly. Document, package and label good parts. Verify partial bins from previous shift.

Responsible for following all safety procedures and for wearing required PPE at all times. Other duties as assigned. Required Experience:Job Qualifications:Must be a team player.

Must possess the physical ability to operate two molding machines simultaneously, using semi-automatic and/or manual methods, ability to multitask in so doing and stand for up to 10 hours per day. Hydraulic Press Operator - Machine Operator - Mechanic

The duties of our Press Operators include:

  1. Set up, operate and troubleshoot all heavy tonnage hydraulic presses and robotics used to press our refractory brick products.
  2. Perform daily/weekly cleanup including preventative maintenance work, fluid checks, look for and report any possible problems.
  3. Safely and efficiently perform mechanical mold changes with minimal down time. The molds weigh up to 400 lbs. so familiarity with dropping an engine, using a pallet jack or an engine hoist is helpful with this work.
  4. Use touch-screen panel to set up, diagnose issues, and perform preventative maintenance work.
  5. Inspect and operate a forklift.
  6. Maintain a consistent rate of production.
  7. Perform basic mechanical maintenance and troubleshooting.
  8. Perform quality checks to include weight, density, size of the bricks utilizing different mathematical equations and tools in short timeframes.
