This individual is directly responsible for all phases of set-up, adjustment and operation of the Flexo press including frequent press checks during running time for quality & quantity of production.

What You Will Do: Lead a 4 person crew to perform the following tasks in an efficient manner. Reads and understands job specification information sheet.

Uses information to ensure production is run according to specification. Performs cutter make ready to include spot up, counter alignment, and pin strip setup. Set proper print impressions, maintain ink conditions during run, match ink at set up and maintain color throughout run.

Performs quality checks according to established procedures to ensure all Quality Standards (Color matches and Registration) are being met. Makes necessary adjustments to Press and other elements of the process as needed. Records and maintains all data related to downtime, die mileage, plate inventory, and ink conditions.

Performs machine trouble shooting and makes adjustments to correct quality or efficiency problems related to machine set up or mechanical defect. Keeps all waste and scrap within company guidelines. Assists in training of new employees and directing the daily duties of subordinates.

Makes sure correct inks are in place and are changed out when there is a copy change made on the Press. Monitors machine efficiencies & speeds to ensure production levels meet or exceed standards & make appropriate adjustments. Performs preventative maintenance checks according to established procedures & schedules.

Performs lock out/tag out when required. Completes production, quality & crewing reports as well as shop floor data collection entries. Operate forklift and clamp trucks. Performs other related duties to contribute to the success of the operation as assigned by supervision.

What You Need To Succeed: Experience operating a platen die cutter. Basic understanding of press operations including ink matching/management, print impression setting, and plate mounting. Zerand experience preferred Willing and able to work the required shift - 2nd or 3rd Shift (3 to 11:30 PM or 11 PM to 7:30 AM)
