Job Summary Reports to the Range Operations Lead for priorities and task. Provides Geographic Information System (GIS) data management and analysis in support of operational range clearance program.

Performs Preventative Maintenance on all GIS equipment as scheduled. General range maintenance and support of all geo-enabled field data collection efforts to include environmental data and ordnance. Perform mapping, spatial analysis, field data collection, and organization of range geospatial information.

Publishes map projects using ESRI ArcInfo, Arc Catalog, ArcView, ArcToolbox, & Adobe Creative Suite. Transforms GIS between multiple map projections and coordinate systems. Collects, organizes, catalogs, stores, preserves, and retrieves of geospatial information and other technical data in an established centralized data management system.

Consolidates data into useable enterprise systems in support of range operations and reporting mechanisms. Assists in implementing engineering changes configuration management, Job Qualification Standards (JQS), Work Instructions (WI), and Procedures. Performs general troubleshooting and assists other range technicians as required.

Writes, reviews, and updates Work Instructions and procedures for all GIS systems. Cross-trained and qualified to operate in other range functional areas. When performing work, responsible for adhering to environmental, safety, and health standards related to the activity, including the wearing of all Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Minimum Requirements High school diploma or equivalent. Five years’ experience in GIS data management and analysis.

Comprehensive practical knowledge of, and extensive experience in, the application of the principles and practices of GIS. Capable of integrating digital spatial data for presentation and illustration in narrative and graphic form, and to determine causal relationships between factors as related to range operations. Experienced in the ESRI ArcGIS9.x/10.x products and extensions in order to perform finishing edits on maps or charts that involve complex features.

Must possess a valid state Driver’s License. Must maintain current CPR/First Aid certification. (Within 6 months of hire date) Must be able to work outdoors for extended periods of time. Must be able to lift 30 pounds repeatedly during the workday.

Performs fabrication of new parts and refurbishment of used parts supporting the NASA ArcJet Facilities at NASA Ames Research Center. Responsibilities and duties will include: 1.

Operates machine tools, such as CNC lathes, milling machines, and machining centers, to produce precision metal parts. 2. Uses knowledge of the working properties of metals and skills with machine tools to plan and carry out the operations needed to make machined products that meet precise specifications. 3. Reviews blueprints or specifications for a job and calculate where to cut or bore into the workpiece, how fast to feed the workpiece into the machine, and how much material to remove. 4.

Selects tools and materials for the job, plans the sequence of cutting and finishing operations. 5. Perform the necessary machining operations. 6.
