Operate specialized repair and testing equipment, including but not limited to: winding machines, test panels, surge testers, core-loss testers, cut-off saws, burnout ovens, back ovens, grinders, cranes, forklift trucks, brazing units, dip tanks, VPI systems and various hand-held power and non-power tools.
Observe all safety procedures and policies and use proper protective equipment (especially eye, ear protection and steel toe shoes/boots, gloves, etc.) * Keep work area clean and organized.
Report all injuries, near misses and accidents immediately to a supervisor.

Description Position Purpose: Coil Winder reports to the manufacturing supervisor and is responsible for operating basic machines and deburring, or light assembly, in an industrial setting. The position works under close supervision, limited decision-making and limited contact with external suppliers or customers. Help the extruder operator bring up the line when it goes down, or in the event of a cold or warm start-up. Once the line is up to speed, inserting trim blades and pulling trim. Set counter for correct footage and indexing winder to begin production.
Ensure the webs are correct width and must set up trim blades to the correct width prior to a product change over. Check and record roll weights every two (2) hours to ensure that correct gauge is maintained throughout the shift. Use the information for statistical process control.
Know how to calculate average roll weight for daily production and end of shift report. Monitor stretch testing; make sure that the stretch percentage (drop speed) is correct for the different products. Identify any problems in the film that may cause test procedure failure, such as gels, fingerprints, fish eyes or bad roll edges.
Communicate the problem to the extruder operator. Fill out daily production report and keep count the number of rolls made on the shift. Keep track of actual downtime and cause.
Knowledge of how many pounds of scrap film were made during the shift. Ensure proper packaging materials are used for product type. Packaging of finished product on pallet following all quality related inspections and secondary roll preparations such as transitional film pull back.

Amsc- Winder Operator
Member of a working team with responsibilities pertaining to the grinder and the fabrication of BOPP film Winder Technician will be participating as a team member working in the operation of a very high speed and fast paced production environment Support the training of all operators assigned to the BOPP Orienter ORIENTER- Resin delivery systems, extrusion, casting, MD orientation, TD orientation, post TD web handling, treatment, online recycling system and winding Winder technician is to ensure recyclable scrap film is processed through the grinders in a timely manner. The Winder technicians must familiarize themselves with the norman operation of the Winder area and grinder Winder technician is responsible for accurate data recording and sample taking-interaction with the Lab is required Practice safe work habits in all areas of the facility while seting the example for other co-workers. Safety must be the number one priority Be alert to all changes in equipment operation and film behavioer/apperance Monitor the operations and be alert to all changes in equipment operations Provide accurate and up-to-date information for use in production reports/records Effectively communicate with other production personnel, including team members, supervisors, production manager, and maintenance personnel Be able to identify process/equipment problems and notifying the appropriate supervision Ensure a hazard free working environment by continuously practicing safety awareness and hazard recognition while maintaining impeccable housekeeping standards *Responsibilities/Duties
