Must be able to operate and interpret test equipment for rotating machinery. (using multimeters, meggers, hi-pots and surge comparison testers)
Perform mechanical measurements using portable instruments such as:  dial indicators, micrometers, and portable vibration measurement equipment.
Will be required to perform field service at customers’ sites.
Must have a valid Driver’s License.

Ac/Dc Electric Motor Winder

Job Description

We are and EASA accredited motor repair and winding shop and are seeking an experience motor winder.  We require 5 years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.  We require familiarity with various electric motor and generator connections.  Job responsibilities include to strip and cut out defective coils, remove insulation, and record coil date for AC and DC motors. 

Evaluate the condition of the stator core per EASA standards.  

Sand blast and prepare the equipment for rewinding. 

Cut and form insulations, form and insert into the rotor, stator or armature slot.

Prepare, form, dip and bake the finished windings

Prepared to perform unrelated mechanical work as required.

Prepared to perform repairs to existing windings as required.

Be adept at using an oxy/acetylene torch to braze motor connections.

Ability to wind other devices such as transformers and specialty coils as required.

Armature Technician/Field Service

This position is responsible for performing basic armature preparation work and assisting in rewinding electromechanical equipment. The essential job functions include, but are not limited to:

  • Assist with dismantling and/or stripping including band removal (with supervision) of damaged or unserviceable electromechanical equipment.

  • Perform incoming tests on armatures.

  • Assist with illustrating and/or documenting all data relevant to unit’s electromagnetic characteristics, operating conditions, existing damage, or intended serviceability.

  • Steam clean or solvent clean armatures. The position requirements are:

  • Six months hands on mechanical experience.

  • Maintain a clean, neat, and safe work environment at all times.

  • Operate and maintain equipment in a safe manner at all times.

  • Promote strong company image and maintain positive working relationships at all times including professional behavior with customers (very infrequent) and co-workers throughout the department (daily basis).

Our winding department handles rewinds from small single phase AC motors up thru 13.8KV Generators.
