Job Description

GardaWorld is seeking highly qualified individuals who have strong driving and security skills for challenging positions as armed Driver/Messengers. Selected candidates are responsible for the transport of coin, currency, and other valuables. They are responsible for customer interaction as they issue and receive receipts of confirmation from customers to verify the transfer of valuables. They must maintain the highest degree of security and control at all times as well as a safe driving record. Driver/Messengers must be alert and aware of their surroundings to prevent any losses. All positions are armed.


Qualifications:

•Position requires a high school diploma/general equivalency diploma or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
•Driver/Messengers must be 21 years of age or older.
•A minimum of 2 years of related experience is preferred.
•Experience as a driver and/or security guard is a plus.
•This position requires individuals to have or be able to obtain and maintain active guard and firearm permits or licenses on a current basis as required by state regulations.
•Must currently have and be able to maintain an active driver’s license and a satisfactory driving record.
•Must be able to communicate effectively in person and by radio.
•Strong customer service skills are a must.
•The qualified candidate must be willing and eligible to obtain a CDL Class B within six months of date of hire, if required at the branch.

JOB SUMMARY
Responsible for the safe delivery and pick-up of customer valuables and/or cargo via armored truck transportation or van.

The essential functions of this position are:

  1. Operate armored trucks and/or vans in a safe manner, abiding by all federal, state, local and company regulations.

  2. Interact with customers, representing the company in accordance with company standards, maintaining proper conduct, appearance (uniforms), personal hygiene, etc.

  3. Complete paperwork accurately and in accordance with procedures.

  4. Maintain a security awareness at all times, whether driving a vehicle or watching for the hopper or outside of the vehicle while delivering shipments to the customer.

  5. Receive shipments and cargo at the beginning of the shift and check-in cargo and shipments at the end of the shift to the vault, ensuring the balancing of the receipts.

  6. Perform necessary first line maintenance on the vehicle at the beginning and/or end of the shift.

  7. May operate runs/routes dedicated to specific needs, i.e. Federal Reserve, BEP.

  8. Other duties as required.


The minimum Knowledge, Education, Experience, Skills, and/or Abilities required to perform this job are, including any physical requirements:

  1. Must be at least 21 years of age, per Department of Transportation regulations.

  2. Must possess a valid driver s license and maintain current license with a good driving record. Minimum 3 years driving experience.

  3. Experience in security field and/or transportation as a driver is preferred.

  4. Must be able to qualify for any other work-related permits required by branch, such as Airport pass, Federal Reserve access, etc.

  5. Must be able to read, write and understand English, have good communication skills and perform basic math skills.

  6. Must be able to lift, carry and transport bagged coin three to five feet, weighing 30-50 pounds several times a day.

  7. Must be able to step in and out of an armored truck 40-70 times per day.

Are you looking for a driving position that's close to home with regular weekday daytime shifts and without any overnight or OTR travel? Well, if you are then this is the position for you!
A well-established local company in business since 1985, American Data Guard is looking for shred truck drivers who are customer service oriented, have experience managing and driving multiple route pickups (approx 15-20 stops per day) and can safely and efficiently operate a B-class CDL truck with onboard equipment. Hourly CDL-B licensed employees start at $17.00 and up depending on experience with performance based increases and low-cost medical benefits.
In addition to maintaining B-class CDL license and DOT medical certifications, post-employment requirements include industry certifications / training, immunizations, etc. Drivers must comply with all applicable DoT / FMCSA CDL driver requirements and be able to effectively communicate in English with all levels of professionals to provide a front line service link between customers and management.
Education/Certification:
Valid and current Washington state driver's license- CDL Class B with air brakes.
Clean five (5) year driving record with no at-fault accidents or moving violations (see also company driver accident policy).
Maintain a current and valid DoT physical card.
Experience:
Two (2) years of commercial delivery route driving experience preferred.
Forklift training or certification preferred.
