  Position Overview: To be able to work in compliance on asbestos abatement projects. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Execution of fieldwork encompassed in asbestos abatement projects while under direct or indirect supervision. Correct completion of all job-specific, employee related NRC paper work including Timesheets, Daily Work Reports, Driver’s Logs and Daily Tailgate Safety Meeting Forms. Ability to load / unload drums, cylinders, equipment from and into vans, flatbeds, trailers, utility trucks, etc.

Ability to perform work inside small areas of varying dimensions; involving squatting and crawling for possible extended periods. Ability to follow directions; read/speak and understand English; read and understand common danger placards / labels and hazardous warning literature including site safety plans. The ability to safely drive and perform safety checks on all vehicles for which licensed.

Must be able to understand and comply with company and client safety standards. Ability to perform heavy lifting and carrying (up to 100 pounds); use of hand tools, power tools, bending, stooping, shoveling and other physically demanding tasks on a daily basis. Ability to perform work under sustained hours, uncomfortable weather conditions and rough terrain.

Asbestos and Lead Environmental Consultantto work at the VA facility in Los Angeles. These positions are full-time positions and is 100% at government facilities. Work would be performed under the direction of a Certified Industrial Hygienist. The

General Responsibilities:

As a Staff Scientist at Terracon, you will conduct environmental research, collect and evaluate scientific data, perform field inspections and sample collection, and prepare written technical reports. You will also conduct Phase I Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs) and inspections for asbestos containing materials (ACMs), and assist with Phase II ESAs and a variety of other tasks in a project-support role. Environmental Scientists at this level work under general direction with moderate supervision and are expected to apply their experience and increase proficiency in the application of scientific principles, theories, practices, and company standards. You will be expected to work autonomously and meet the required scope, schedule, and budget of any given project, as well as consult with other technical professionals and/or your supervisor on routine and moderately complex projects. Proficiency in basic computer software, and approximately 25 to 40 percent travel, with occasional overnight travel, is required.

Essential Role and Responsibilities:

  • Using prescribed methods, assist in the collection and evaluation of data from field sampling, reports, maps, drawings, tests, and other resources to complete projects;
