Summary Description of Position
The Ready Mix Plant Operator will work closely with fixed maintenance mechanic, other plant operators, and Plant Foreman. The Plant Operator is responsible for starting up, batching, and shutting down the batch plant on a daily basis, operating various pieces of heavy equipment such as front end wheel loader, forklift, and man lift, and also identifying and helping with maintenance on the plant when necessary. The plant operator will also work regularly with Ready Mix CDL drivers and dispatch to batch concrete in a timely and quality manner. The ideal candidate will be able to multitask in fast paced environment while maintaining composure, allowing for quick and accurate decisions. The candidate will conduct his/her work with safety always as a priority. He/she will exemplify the safety and environmental culture at Vulcan.
Conducts thorough pre and post shift plant inspections and documents deficiencies accordingly.
Prepares plant for daily operation and regularly operates plant.
Works with QC and Drivers to produce quality material.
Works with plant operators and foreman to ensure raw material inventories are sufficient for production during following shifts.

Education, Experience, Skills Required
High School Diploma/GED or an equivalent combination of training and work experience.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Must have strong working knowledge of industrial processing equipment such as conveyor systems, pneumatic (air) systems, bins and hoppers, and plant control equipment.
Must be observant and alert to the movement and condition of equipment within assigned responsibility area.
Be mechanically inclined and have ability to troubleshoot and diagnose problems in relation to plant operations. Performs housekeeping – maintain a clean and safe working station.
Performs record-keeping requirements.
Must have basic computer skills.
Must be able to calculate basic arithmetic problems involving percentages, addition, subtraction, multiplication and division. Must be able to convert units of measure such as ounces to gallons, cubic feet to cubic yards, etc.
License: Valid Driver's license with acceptable driving record required.

The Tender Management (TM) Analyst plays a critical role in producing responses to Requests for Proposals (RFPs) to win new customers and protect existing business. The TM Analyst leads cross-functional teams during the entire project life-cycle, from initial evaluation of an opportunity to final deliverables. A day in the life:

Asphalt paving crew needs experienced asphalt distributor operator to apply liquid asphalt per plan and quality standards before an area is paved. Duties may vary based on project needs.

Asphalt Distributor Operator
Operate equipment safely and efficiently while adhering to all company and safety policy and procedure requirements.
Drives and operates distributor truck equipped with tank to spray emulsions on road surfaces.
Regulate burner to heat liquid and start auxiliary pump.
Snap or screw on spray bars to attain required width of spray.
Turn valves to regulate flow of material at specific rates and adjust levers in order to adjust the height from the road surface.
Must monitor flow, tachometer and temperature gauges to ensure uniform distribution.
Responsible for performing daily safety checks and maintaining equipment is in proper and safe working order while reporting any repair needs to the supervisor.
Must understand and be able to execute the different emulsions.
Work long, flexible hours as demanded by our customers including nights, weekends, and work outside for extended periods during all seasons of the year.
Some out of town overnight stays may be required.
Perform additional duties as required or directed by their immediate supervisor or other manager.
