Inspects grooves, angles, or gap allowances, using micrometer, caliper, and precision measuring instruments. Removes rough spots from work piece, using portable grinder, hand file, or scraper.

Welds components in flat, vertical, or overhead positions. Heats, forms, and dresses metal parts, using hand tools, torch, or arc welding equipment. Ignites torch and adjusts valves, amperage, or voltage to obtain desired flame or arc.

Analyzes engineering drawings and specifications to plan layout, assembly, and welding operations. Develops templates and other work aids to hold and align parts. The candidate will construct and maintain surface targets.

The Electronics Technician, Maintenance II maintains repairs, troubleshoots, modifies and installs various types of electronic equipment and related devices such as electronic transmitting and receiving equipment (e.g., radar, radio, television, telecommunication, sonar, and navigational aids); personal and main frame computers and terminals, industrial, medical, measuring, and controlling equipment; and industrial robotic devices. Coast Guard as a Master of inspected motor vessels of 100 gross registered tons in near coastal waters or equivalent experience is highly desired. Three (3) years experience up to the level of Master aboard vessels operating under conditions requiring precise navigation, station keeping, close quarter maneuvering, and towing. Specific experience with both the International and U.S. inland rules of the road.

Experience with marine radio voice, VHF, and UHF communications procedures and practices. Minimum three years experience in the maintenance and repair of electronic systems. Must be able to maintain and operate, high and low power radar, and microwave components.

Must be proficient in the use of a wide range of electronic test equipment; and able to interpret engineering drawing and sketches. Experience with Motorola radio networks, synchro/servo systems; fiber optices, HF, VHF, UHF, and Acoustic transmitters and receivers and desirable.

Candidate must be a U.S.

Citizen. Candidate must have the ability to obtain an Interim Security Clearance (or transfer) in a timely manner, and maintain a US Government (DoD) Secret Clearance for this position on the SCORE Contract. Knowledge of experience in all aspects of current naval training tactics and training scenarios is highly desirable. Ability to train fellow employees on these tactics and scenarios is highly desirable.

Formal training and experience as a marine outboard mechanic, particularly Mercury Marine and Honda outboard engines is highly desirable. Training and experience with marine diesel engines and outdrive systems is highly desirable. Training and experience in equipment and procedures for the initial response and containment marine oil spills is highly desirable.

Capability of maintaining an inventory of tools and equipment required for spill containment as well as ability to train fellow employees on the use of these tools and procedures for spill containment is highly desirable. Experience and training in current techniques to conduct welding operations, particularly working with aluminum, is highly desirable Education: Graduation from an accredited trade school, applicable military service program or proven performance gained through experience in watercraft operation and seamanship.

Other Special Equipment or Skills: Candidate will be proficient in written and verbal English language skills. Candidate must be able to stand, see, reach, balance 50 to 75 percent of the time and be able to lift up to 50 lbs. 25 to 50 percent of the time.
