Description: Accurately and efficiently assembles/tests a variety of moderately complex products to achieve customer quality and on-time delivery schedules. May perform lockwiring, first stage subassembly, and final detailing functions.

Works on products that contain mechanical components, single hydraulic systems, and multiple part numbers. Actively contributes to lean initiatives to increase productivity and reduce costs. Receives general supervisory guidance.

Assembler Tester B- 2Nd Shift

Eaton Aerospace Group located in Los Angeles, CA (near Glendale metro) has an opening for an Assembler and Test B Technician on 2nd shift. The LA facility has approximately 350 employees and is a leader in the design, development, manufacture and delivery of Aerospace hydraulic components, systems and services to the global aftermarket and OEM markets. Responsible for assembling and testing hydraulic and/or pneumatic and electronic components as specified in applicable documents with minimal supervision.

  • Operates in team environment

  • Ability to read blueprints and schematics (hydraulics/electrical) + Follow and complete process documentation

  • Report labor in MRP system + Inspect accuracy of documentation.

  • Uses hand bench and power tools and measuring instruments, including transducers, oscilloscopes, virtual instruments and test boxes.

  • Assembles and disassembles and tests basic and complex sub-assemblies and valve assemblies.

  • Laps all required surfaces with proper tooling techniques and compounds.

  • Work with minimal supervision.

  • Complies with Eaton standard policies and procedures.

  • Able to perform root cause analysis and fault isolation.

  • Rejects and reports discrepant materials.

  • Ability to identify and communicate basic documentation issues.

Perform various assembly operations on hydraulic, pneumatic, and electro-mechanical valves, actuators and systems using a variety of electrical and mechanical measuring instruments, assembly tools and cleaning devices. Required to work from drawings, worksheets, parts lists, and other units, it is also required that the assembler have working knowledge of the products to perform diagnostic rework (or trouble shooting) on units which do not meet test requirements. Required to work on repairs normally run with production units.
Work on hydraulic test stands to perform assembly functions, set-up AMPS and 1st stages. Some testing required using defined procedures. Positively contribute to the teamwork environment in terms of productivity, initiative, cooperation, data collection and attitude.

Assembler Tester I (2Nd Shift)

PURPOSE AND SCOPE:

Tests medical equipment quickly and competently according to the procedures within the department. Meets production goals while achieving the highest standard of quality.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Under close supervision, acquires Tester skills and learns company policies and procedures to complete routine tasks.
  • Perform routine detailed test & calibration procedures on different types of equipment and components.
  • Responsible for carrying out tasks in a diligent manner according to written procedures and/or instruction.
  • Responsible for proper cleaning and correct modification of products.
  • Proper safety equipment must be used at all times.
  • Diagnoses equipment operating problems and make required repairs. Modify the devices according to current specifications and customer needs.
  • Make sure test equipment is in working order and within calibration due date.
  • Keep up-to-date records of equipment manual and equipment test procedures.
  • Make sure that work floor is clean at all times.
  • May refer to senior staff for assistance with day-to-day problems that may arise.
  • Escalates issues to supervisor for resolution, as deemed necessary.
  • Assist with various projects as assigned by direct supervisor.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities:

  • Follow verbal and written work instructions to set up and operate test equipment
  • Perform final functional circuit tests on a go, no-go basis using Hipot and Fluke multimeter equipment to test circuit functionality
