Valve Assembler/Tester

Pay: $12-$14/hr based on experience

Days/Hours: Monday through Friday 7:30 AM to 4:30

JOB FUNCTION:

To perform all kinds of assembling, setting of relief point, testing, painting, and preparation for shipment of all SRV valves, MOV chokes, and other valve and choke related products using the facilities provided in the assembly and testing department.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1.    Receives instructions and work orders for the job and performs the tasks required.

2.     Builds products from work order kits.

3.     Sets and test products for customer needs based on the work order.

4.     Maintain a safe and orderly environment.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

1.     Maintains a daily test booth gauge log whenever a test booth is used to set a valve.

2.     Maintains product traceability by applying the serial number to the part.

3.     Maintains Quality Assurance trace ability by applying their own individual stamp to the part, during the assembly process, the setting process, and testing process.

4.     The noise level in the environment is loud, hearing and eye protection are mandatory.

 QUALIFICATIONS:

1.    Work involves varying degrees of precision and control where damage could be considerable.

2.    Attention and care required preventing injury to others when performing maintenance work.

3.    Work involves considerable stooping, bending, and working in overhead structures. Considerable noise emits from work, requiring the wearing of personal protective equipment. Exposed to possible flying objects, such as high-pressure air and water, metal nuts, bolts, and plugs.

4.    Accident hazard can involve severe cuts and bruises. Job site must be carefully enclosed to prevent injury to others from noise and flying parts.

Position Description

Accurately and efficiently assembles/tests products to achieve customer quality and on-time delivery schedules.  May perform lockwiring, first stage subassembly, and final detailing functions on routine assignments requiring limited judgement.  Actively contributes to lean initiatives to increase productivity and reduce costs.  Receives direct supervisory guidance.

Duties and
Responsibilities:

1. Performs basic assembly/test functions utilizing mechanical skills, hand and power tools, mechanical/electronic tools, test equipment, assembly fixtures, and inspection measurement equipment in a manufacturing environment. 

2. Records test results on data forms using basic electrical equipment and flow meters.  

3. Interprets blueprints, engineering orders, asesmbly routes, test specifications, service bulletins, cusotmer requirements, and quality directives.

4.  Produces and inspects assemblies that conform to product specifications.  Assembles/tests to custmer and/or industry standards.  

5. Performs touch-up or full surface painting of parts with finishing materials such as paint, lacquer, glaze etc. Mixes paint and cleans parts. 

6. Actively participates in lean initiatives by identifying and providing suggestions on areas for improvement.  

7. Observes all safety rules and maintains a foreign object damage (FOD) free work area. 

8. Ensures all equipment is calibrated in accordance with calibration schedule.

Will perform manual and automated tests on printed circuit boards and units to determine conformance to product specification per test procedures Facility provides for a safe, clean work environment with supervisors who are willing to train.
