Role Summary: Due to increased production demands, GE Aviation in Norwich, NY has an opening for a 1st shift Assembler / Tester Level 2 in our Metal Joining Department. The first shift hours are from 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM.

Essential Responsibilities: Perform all level 1 functions in addition to level 2. Train Level 1 employees; Assist in leading team initiatives. More frequent interaction with internal and/or external customers and support functions (i.e. – Planners, Engineering) outside of home department. May act as primary contact for auditors. Perform set up operations of more technical equipment as required by department following proper training. Perform duties on proto-type or first time builds. Possess inspection stamp as required. Possess knowledge and assembly skills to work on more difficult parts. May require FAA certification. Perform troubleshooting responsibilities. Other duties as required by department.

PURPOSE AND SCOPE: Tests medical equipment quickly and competently according to the procedures within the department. The Tester shall meet production goals while achieving the highest standard of quality.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: + Under general supervision, performs detailed test and calibration procedures on different types of equipment and components.

Job Description: Accurately and efficiently assembles/tests a variety of moderately complex products to achieve customer quality and on-time delivery schedules. May perform lockwiring, first stage subassembly, and final detailing functions. Works on products that contain mechanical components, single hydraulic systems, and multiple part numbers. Actively contributes to lean initiatives to increase productivity and reduce costs. Receives general supervisory guidance. Major Responsibilities: + Demonstrate product and process knowledge by applying it to newly learned techniques.

  • Able to select appropriate procedures, techniques, tools, and equipment.
