Responsibilities:

Perform model based system analysis to size main components in vehicles with electrified propulsion to meet requirements for performance and fuel consumption. Main components are electric machines (motors/generators), high voltage battery and engine. The sizing consists on defining maximum torque, speed, power and energy levels required by HEV components.
Collect, compile and maintain a database of all HEV requirements, vehicle operating scenarios, vehicle data, and target market regulations in order to perform the sizing task described above.

Required Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical or Automotive Engineering
  • 1+ years’ applied experience with MATLAB/Simulink software is required
Preferred Qualifications:
  • PhD in Electrical, Mechanical or Automotive Engineering
  • Working knowledge of vehicle performance, grade, tow requirements, and longitudinal vehicle dynamics is highly preferred
  • Knowledge and experience of electrified propulsion systems and related systems analysis methodologies

Responsibilities:

  • Individual is responsible for component cost throughout program life for assigned commodities (setting piece cost and investment targets, negotiation support for new business placement and design changes).

  • Working from BOM, drawings and/or samples the individual must be able to develop technical cost and investment/tooling models for Chassis components and systems using activity based costing methodologies.

Job Description:

Sustaining Component Engineer duties:Tracking of component lifecycle information. · Familiarity with SiliconExpert or similar tool to research components. Upload BOMs into SiliconExpert database. · Verify accuracy of manufacturer part numbers and their RoHS and REACH compliance status.

Submit updates for AML items in SAP. · Find second sources or equivalent parts, run parametric searches and side by side comparisons of components. Receive and review PCN and PDN notifications from SiliconExpert. Also read and review PCN and PDN notifications/information sent to Siemens directly from manufacturers, Contract Manufacturers, or from the Siemens Corporate organization in Germany.

In case of product discontinuance, check for other sources on AML. · If there are other sources on AML, verify their productions status. · If there are not additional sources listed on AML, review alternate manufacturer information and take appropriate steps to ensure continuation of supply. Add new sources to the AML based on data sheet review. In some cases, request component samples for qualification on assemblies.

Utilize internal database to keep track of new component qualification. In cases where no second sources exist, start ECO in SAP and work with internal team to plan for a Last Time Buy. Process and add information to ECO as we work on each LTB case.

Ensure all parties complete their tasks needed for LTB decision. Upload PO document to internal system, and ensure there is appropriate signoffs. Meet regularly with cross-functional team to ensure compliance to internal processes, and manage component issues.

Work with Development Engineering to eliminate EOL parts on new designs. Ensure appropriate resources are working on current designs to ensure designs are updated to minimize LTB processes.

R&D support: New BOM analysis. Uploading all active Siemens BOMs into SiliconExpert and running component lifecycle risk, single source, environmental, cost and other reports as needed.

Work with design engineers in researching components for new designs. Avoid using mature parts in new Siemens products. Ensure components being developed have long lifecycles for our products. Work with component manufacturers to present their product roadmap information to R&D so Siemens team knows what is available for future development.

Compliance support: Assist Compliance Engineering with RoHS, REACH, CoC, and material declaration documentation. Upload documentation into SAP for every item or category of component.

Review and assign ESN codes to new AML items to ensure traceability to proper RoHS categories. Use ESN tool to find and look up correct ESN codes for new components.

Contract Manufacturer support: Manage requests for component cost reduction, verification of AML part numbers, review of forwarded PCN and PDN documents, and component shortage resolution. So, for the CE position you will need someone with Electrical or Electronics Engineering degree.

Electrical testing and manufacturing experience are also helpful. Familiarity with SAP or other MRP systems is useful. In my career I have met Component Engineers who had Mechanical Engineering background.

Other Tasks: This position is a dynamic position within Siemens Healthineers, and will involve other activities related to OEM electro-mechanical assemblies. You will also be asked to support other projects and Sustaining Engineers in their tasks, as the project load shifts around the team. #LI-WC1

2nd SHIFT The Component Prep Attendant supports production by performing component and equipment washing, assembly and sterilization for use in the manufacture of sterile injectable products.

Clean, assemble and inspect equipment for filling, including surge tanks, pumps, manifolds, nozzles, and associated tubing and fittings. Assemble equipment to specific drawings for specific Filling lines. Perform equipment rinse water testing utilizing a Conductivity Meter. 30% 2.

Loads equipment into the appropriate washers according to the validated loading instructions and operates the washing equipment. Load autoclaves according to validated loading patterns. Operate and monitor the sterilization cycles to ensure they meet the program parameters. 20% 3.

Complete documentation, status labeling and logbooks. Review documentation for accuracy and completeness. Troubleshoots problems in specified areas, as required. 15% 4.

Prepare and integrity test all filters used in production. 10% 5. Perform cleaning of classified and CNC areas in compliance with SOP’s. Prepare cleaning solutions and must be able to accomplish all daily, weekly, monthly and restoration activities for ISO Class 7 and CNC areas. 10% 6.

Properly dispose of hazardous waste. 5% 7. Certified to surface sanitize/sterilize equipment, supplies and tools required for class 5 & 6 use. Passivate equipment, as required.

Maintain dedicated equipment program, ensure equipment inventory is accurate and etched appropriately. 5% 8. Verifies and maintains a record of material that moves through Component Preparation. Stock gowning materials for Class 7 clean room areas, as required. 5% 9.

Required to wear clean room, class 7 gowning, consisting of coveralls, hair cover, gloves, masks, goggles, boots and safety shoes. Always 10. Work in other areas as trained, if required. As Needed
