About the Position:
The Project Superintendent is responsible for all on-site management of underground utility construction projects and field personnel from inception to completion of each assigned project. Must have direct knowledge and experience in underground utility construction consisting of water, storm, sewer, etc. 5 years of construction supervisory experience preferred. Must have a valid driver’s license and motor vehicle history record that meet company insurance requirements.


  • Leads with positive attitude toward policies pertaining to safety, and regularly works to foster a safe work environment.
  • Responsible for all aspects of safety on the job site including but not limited to safety incidents, safety equipment, and safety precautions.
  • Reviews, understands, and implements construction project documents such as contracts, plans, specifications, drawings, job layout, as-builts and quantity books sufficient to perform the responsibilities of this position.
  • Responsibility on the job site includes but not limited to; assisting in the determination of manpower and equipment needs, project scheduling, personnel hiring, equipment maintenance, tool and material requirements and managing subcontractors.
  • Assists with time cards and record keeping - timely and accurately maintains and completes quantity records and time cards.
  • Timely and accurately maintains and keeps current all construction documents (change orders, schedules, purchase orders, RFI’s, submittals, daily dairies and quantity books.
  • Perform other tasks assigned by the Project Manager or other Operations Management (other duties as assigned.)
  • Drive a motor vehicle safely to visit job sites, attend meetings, travel as necessary, and otherwise perform the responsibilities of the position.

  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management and/or 5 years of construction supervisory experience preferred. Must have direct experience and knowledge of underground utility construction.
  • Proficiency in the use of PC with Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, etc.).
  • Must be able to read blue prints, construction contracts, subcontracts and other construction documents, plans and specifications.
  • Ability to initiate and maintain business relationships – including working effectively with owners, engineers, co-workers, subcontractors, suppliers, and the public.
  • Must be able to travel to and live in the area of remote construction project locations as may be required for whatever periods of time as are necessary to complete such projects.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and motor vehicle history record that meet company insurance requirements. Class A CDL preferred.

Job Summary:
Supervision of all fabrication employees including annual reviews. Responsible for ensuring standard work is in place in all phases of fabrication and with the assistance of the North American Fabrication Manager determine opportunities to expand the fabrication capabilities based on sales and market demand.
Involved in the initial set up of the fabrication cell(s) using Lean principles to attain best flow and create the most value.

Specific duties and responsibilities:
Determine daily workload requirements and assign work as necessary.
Train and develop personnel on all phases of fabrication with the emphasis on standard work.
Ensure PM’s are being done in a timely manner on all pertinent equipment.
Work with Supply Chain to ensure proper inventory is in place, stock levels are reviewed and amended as needed.
Coordinate with Customer Care and Purchasing as to all order requirements and delivery dates.
Review all drawings and discuss any concerns directly with CPS prior to releasing to the floor.
Create and update the tiered level testing for each fabrication technician and lead requirements.
25% - 30% travel may be required to assist other fabrication cell locations.

The candidate will be required to develop full sets of construction drawings from a BIM model. This individual should have a strong understanding of process design concepts including process equipment, piping layouts, flanges valves and fittings, and P&IDs.

This person must be proficient in Revit, should possess strong communication and coordination skills, and should be self motivated and detail oriented, with an initiative to deliver high quality, technically sound Process designs.
