Duties:

* Responsiblefor building machines:  Assemble productsaccording to engineering drawings, routings and blueprints.* Measure parts to specific tolerances. 
* Deburrs, grinds and buffs parts.
* Cleans, assembles, disassembles and replaces parts as required.
* Install conduit, wiring and cabinets as well as terminal connections.

* Install hydraulic tubing, hoses, pumps, motors, including systemtesting.

* Use hand tools, chemicals, adhesives, crimps and rivet parts.

* Use equipment such as: grinder, ohm meter, drills, overhead lift, fixtures and gauges.

* Test functional performance of assembled equipment/systems.

* Perform 100% functional test of all assembliesin accordance with Acceptance Test Procedures.

Skills/Qualifications:
* High School Diploma or equivalent.

* Relevant Trade School certification preferred.
* 6-12 months of related experience. 

* Some mechanical, electrical or hydraulic experience orcoursework.

* Strong communications skills.

Machine Assembler

Job Summary:

Under the supervision of the Production Supervisor, this position assembles and tests completed machines and other products in the Material Handling Technologies (MHT) shop. This position also travels to client sites for installation, final assembly, start-up and trouble-shooting of products or machines. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following: 

Operates all shop machines / tools such as; band saw, cut-off machine, drill presses and hand tools

Reads and interprets engineering production prints

Assembles and builds all automated machinery products

Completes welding tasks using TIG & MIG

Modifies and adjusts equipment while working closely with engineering

Has knowledge of pneumatics and hydraulics and the ability to plumb

Read electrical schematics and assemble electrical panels, ability to use a volt meter (AC/DC and 3 Phase)

Set-up and conduct tests of equipment before shipping

Performs general maintenance on production tools and equipment

Completes necessary paperwork and utilizes ERP system

At Senior level (Level III)

Diagnoses customer problems with previously installed systems via telephone

Uses computer software e.g.: Allen Bradley, Panel View and Programmable Control Skills to program machine

Trouble-shoots overall machine operations, including:

• Making minor and major changes to Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) codes

• Reconnecting internal machine utilities i.e. electrical, air, hydraulic hoses, etc. disassembled for shipping

• Pneumatics

Leads and instructs the work of employees in lower levels

At both Levels II & III, operates all equipment in a safe manner, following all approved safety procedures at all times and may perform a variety of reasonably similar or related duties as instructed.


EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: At Level II Technical degree or certificate in related field or 1 to 2 years of related work experience and at Level III 2 plus years related experience.

Responsible for reporting all labor and expenses associated with each machine build. Able to operate overhead and gantry cranes, forklifts, and other material handling devises.
