HW Test Validation Technician – Wire Bonding (5131)

HW Test Validation Technician – Wire Bonding

Looking for a HW Test Validation Technician focusing on wire bonding in optical labs. This person should be an expert in manual and semi-manual wire and die bonding machines including their operations, tuning for bonding conditions and maintenance. This person will also perform bench level qualification tests and may need to work closely with the optical design groups to create test plans and build up the test infrastructure. This will all be done to evaluate/characterize performance of the following – server, storage and networking optical solutions.

Scope:

  • Extensive experience with manual wire die bonding machines - substrates, pad sizes, wire types, etc.
  • Hands on experience with K&S wire bonders.
  • Experience with FINEPLACER Lambda die bonding machines on a variety of materials - non-conductive/conductive, eutectic alloy, epoxy, etc.
  • Epoxy substrate bonding process experience.
  • Work with HW Design/Optical Development teams in order to understand new project architectures/system components.
  • Write/execute test procedures in order to validate product performance.
  • Maintain lab equipment and test setups that are complex.
  • Experience reporting on findings, reducing test data, investigating test outcomes.
  • Assist in root cause analysis in regards to outlier results.
  • Required Skills:

  • Multiple years of hands on experience in an optical lab environment.
  • Ability to understand, write and follow HW test plans/procedures for executing product quality tests.
  • Ability and experience delivering stable, repeatable and reliable test results.
  • Experience and willingness to maintain a clean and organized lab environment.
  • Experience with calibrating test equipment, setting up and testing fixture design and builds.
  • Ability to lift 25-35 pounds.
