Machinery Maintence Mechanic

The Machinery Maintenance Mechanic repairs machinery or mechanical equipment. Work involves most of the following: examining machines and mechanical equipment to diagnose source of trouble, dismantling or partly dismantling machines and performing repairs that mainly involve the use of hand tools in scraping and fitting parts.
Responsibilities include replacing broken or defective parts with items obtained from stock, and ordering the production of a replacement part by a machine shop or sending the machine to a machine shop for major repairs. Duties also include preparing written specifications for major repairs or for the production of parts ordered from machine shops, reassembling machines and making all necessary adjustments for operation. In general, the work of a Machinery Maintenance Mechanic requires rounded training and experience usually acquired through a formal apprenticeship or equivalent training and experience.
Excluded from this classification are workers whose primary duties involve setting up or adjusting machines.  Other duties include snow removal, cleaning of mechanical spaces, completion of necessary paperwork as required by the owner, training as required by the owner and VW International, Inc.  Welding ability is a plus as is a 3rd Grade Engineers License.   Normal duties will include the lifting of items up to 50# and the use of step and extension ladders.
All tools are furnished by VWI.  Uniforms are required and will be furnished by VWI.
Hours will be between 0700 to 0430, Monday Through Friday.
Actual shift varies due to on call requirements shared by five technicians.
Starting wage is $19.36 per hour plus $4.27 for health and welfare.  10 Paid holidays, 2 wks paid vacation after one year of employment, 3wks after 8 years, 4 weeks after 15 years.  This is a full time position of 40 hours a week.
You must be able to pass a background check to gain access to the facility.  You must have a clean driving record in order to operate the on-site VWI vehicle.

SUMMARY / GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF JOB: Under direction of the Facility Supervisor, the Machinery Maintenance Mechanic repairs machinery and mechanical equipment primarily used for classified material conversion (CMC) purposes. The work may include examining machines and mechanical equipment to diagnose source of trouble, dismantling or partly dismantling machines, performing repairs, replacing broken or defective parts. Duties may also include preparing written specifications for major repairs or for the production of parts ordered from machine shops, reassembling machines and making all necessary adjustments for operation.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & JOB FUNCTIONS: * Monitors, maintains, and repairs classified material conversion machinery.

  • Examines machines and mechanical equipment to diagnose source of trouble, dismantle or partly dismantle machines and perform repairs that mainly involve the use of hand tools in scraping and fitting parts

  • Reads, interprets, and adjusts meters and gauges to make sure that plant equipment and processes are working properly.

  • Replaces broken or defective parts with items obtained from stock, orders the production of a replacement part by a machine shop and repairs the machines when parts are procured.

  • Ability to deal with a variety of people in a professional, courteous manner in diversified situations.

  • Mature judgment and ability to work with minimal supervision.

  • provide SAS programming activities for the monitoring, reporting, and analysis of clinical trials and will deliver against the overall protocol timelines and quality goals within the study teams.

  • Collaborate with project biostatistician in the creation, implementation, and maintenance of execution plan accounting for timeline, resource and quality of the projects

  • Ensures that all statistical programs comply with the programming coding standards and utilize available standard reporting systems, as well as macro utility programs.

  • Support statistical programming applications that are used to generate clinical study reports.

  • Support ADS and TLG generation, and assist with the development of work flow and SOPs for Biostatistics and Statistical Programming operations.

  • Accountable for the provision of standard and non-standard data sets, tables, listings and figures based on the final synopsis and SAP that are required for the study reports, submissions and product defense.

Education and Qualifications
