Finish Mill Face Frame Assembly Apprentice SUMMARY Sets up and operates variety of woodworking machines and uses various handtools to fabricate and repair wooden cabinets and high grade furniture by performing the following duties. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.

Other duties may be assigned as deemed necessary by the immediate/acting leadership. Studies blueprints or drawings of articles to be constructed or repaired, and plans sequence of cutting or shaping operations to be performed. Marks outline or dimensions of parts on paper or lumber stock.

Matches materials for color, grain, or texture. Sets up and operates woodworking machines such as power saws, jointer, mortiser, tenoner, CNC machines, molder, and shaper, to cut and shape parts from woodstock. Trims component parts of joints to ensure snug fit.

Glues, fits, and clamps parts and subassemblies together to form complete unit. Drives nails or other fasteners into joints at designated places to reinforce joints. Sands and scrapes surfaces and joints of articles to prepare articles for finishing.

Repairs high grade articles of furniture. QUALITY All associates have the responsibility to meet all of the requirements for their work processes the first time, every time; nonconformance is not acceptable. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

Manufacturing company in West Berkeley specializing in custom molded rubber products.  We are a small family owned business that has been in business for over 40 years.  We manufacture parts used in the following industries:

We are offering a position for a molding press operator. 

This is a full-time position working 4 days per week Monday thru Thursday from 6:00 AM to 4 PM.  Periodic overtime will be worked on Fridays. Pay rate will start at $14.00 per hour.   This is considered a temp-to-hire position:  if an individual shows they can perform the work we offer effectively they would be offered a full-time position with our company and would be entitled to all of the employee benefits that come with that.  This would include paid sick and vacation pay, 401K, a generous paid holiday schedule, performance bonus program, and health care benefits.

Duties to include:

1)    Molding press operation

a)    Running a transfer or injection molding machine to produce molded rubber parts.  This involves learning how to operate the controls of the press, handling the mold, and how to process molded parts.

b)    follow written production specifications which describe how parts are to be fabricated and how to perform initial part inspection for parts coming off of the presses.

2)    Trimming of molded parts

a)    remove excess flash from parts after they have been molded

3)    Part assembly

a)    assemble groups of parts to make a finished part

4)    Extrusion machine operation

a)    learn to assist in the operation of the rubber extruder, loading it and staging finished extrusion as it comes off of the machine

5)    Assist other production process steps as needed.

Qualified candidates must have the following minimum skills:

  1. Proficiency with English.  Must be able to converse and read and write clearly in English.
  2. Ability to follow written instructions closely.
  3. No prior press machine experience is necessary, we will train all new candidates. We are simply looking for individuals that can follow instructions and are motivated to work efficiently and professionally.
  4. Press operation can involve moving metal mold components in and out of the press.  Must be able to safely lift up to 50 lbs.

    • GLOBAL FOUNDRIES is looking for an experienced Frame Layout Technician on the Customer Tape-out Engineering (CTE) team located in Burlington, VT. You will be responsible for designing and assisting peers to layout content within the frames and generate step plans using various computer aided physical design tools and scripting abilities primarily for, but not limited to, Fab 9 (Burlington, VT) and Fab 10 (East Fishkill, NY). The successful candidate will enjoy assignments that will include using and modifying automation to generate electrical and optical structures that are also known as Process Control Monitoring (PCM) structures, executing test efforts for our frame software and infrastructure as well as contribute to improving our frame layout automation and step plan generation processes. This role involves working with Engineers on the Frame team as well as other Engineers and Technicians that use semiconductor manufacturing tools (i.e., lithography and metrology) and test tools at our Fabrication sites. The successful candidate enjoys being part of a team that continuously improves our products and processes by assisting with Failure Mode and Effect Analyses, suggesting actions to reduce risks and commenting during structured problem solving sessions. Further, a person in this role will help reduce the cycle time to generate production designs for our high volume technology offerings . Essential Responsibilities: o Engage with Frame Engineers, Technology Development, Process Integration, Metrology, Photolithography, Characterization, Data Preparation, Design Services, and Mask House teams for specifications to design and document electrical and optical designs. o Use or modify Process Design Kits (PDKs) as well as other physical design tools to generate electrical and optical designs. o Run Design Rule Checking (DRC) tools or similar custom scripts to verify electrical and optical designs as well as prepare documentation for Waiver Review Board (WRB) submission. o Use internally developed software code and commercially available software tools to generate Step Plans, Frame documentation and related numerical files that drive automation for our fabrication and mask manufacturing sites. o Perform tasks defined as Frame team standard work as well as generate or maintain Frame Team documentation and standards. Also mentor peers with development and recurring team processes. o Communicate task status against project schedules to lead Frame Engineer or our Manager.

  • Interact with Field Application Engineering or Product Engineering teams to provide a best-in-class Customer Tape-out Operations experience.

  • Suggest continuous improvements projects as well as automation opportunities to enhance the teams' productivity.
