  • Computerized Matte Cutter/Sizing: Individual will operate the CMC hand operated sizing station to cut mattes, foam board and glass to specific size.

  • Material Handler: An integral part of the manufacturing process; individual must be mechanically inclined, flexible, fast paced, and precise. Individual will be responsible for placing material into appropriate storage areas, pulling material for job orders and moving between production stations.

  • Packing Line Operator: Individual will be working multiple tasks to complete final product packaging.

Qualifications include: * Minimum of one (1) year continuous employment history

  • High school Diploma or GED * Ability to lift and/or move objects up to 50 lbs.

  • Ability to successfully complete skills assessment test

Job Description

Growing blow molded manufacturer is looking for plant manager. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in manufacturing, planning, continuous improvement, will be a team builder, and will thrive on building relationships both internally and externally. This leader must thrive on challenging the status-quo, and have a passion for designing, leading, and implementing cross-functional process improvements. This leader’s primary task will be to inspire the manufacturing team to achieve new heights through the use of strengths based management, process improvement, and Lean techniques.

This is a full time position within the Operations Department reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer or VP of Operations. The Plant Manager will be responsible for the leadership and guidance of all manufacturing processes . The role will also cover providing daily guidance to the functional and business support roles including include planning, quality, engineering, purchasing, and project management. The Plant Manager will work with the cross functional members of the organization to implement continuous improvement tools, operational metrics, standardization of work flows, demand planning of materials/labor, schedule adherence to commitments, resource allocations, shift sizing, capacity planning and performance reporting.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Responsible for planning budgeting, scheduling, production, engineering, and overall quality of the products produced at the facility.

  2. Develop business plans, budgets, staffing plans, and forecasts, and implement lean manufacturing concepts.

  3. Direct production and ensure cost effectiveness and consistency with safety, quality accuracy and performance standards.

  4. Expert "hands on" knowledge of manufacturing processes.

  5. Manage Human Resources issues as needed.

  6. Continuously review and improve operational productivity.

  7. Facilitate problem solving within departments and cross functionally.

  8. Plan, organize and direct plant operations to ensure the Company's Strategic goals are met in a timely, cost effective manner that provides optimum quality, and on-time customer delivery.

  9. Prepare and submit operating reports to management to inform them of the current production status and make recommendations to improve efficiency and effectiveness.

  10. Promote employee engagement and talent development by: reviewing and providing timely feedback to reports regarding their performance; mentoring, developing and motivating them; developing an internal talent pool; helping resolve functional issues in order to achieve targeted performance; creating mid-term and long-term development plans for direct reports; and building transparent, cooperative, trustworthy working environment for the employees.

  11. Research, evaluate, recommend and implement investments in technology, equipment or systems that will enhance the plant's production capabilities in order to optimize production, improve efficiency and reduce conversion cost.

  12. Push the improvement of processes through use of Lean tools and by creating and sustaining a continuous improvement environment.

  13. Review manufacturing methods and develop product/process/ system strategies to meet company objectives for quality, cost, responsiveness and growth.

  14. Ensure EHS compliance by: actively searching for potential risks and mitigate them; making the necessary reports in case of incidences; and implementing corrective and preventive measures in order to ensure the occupational health and safety of employees, as well as compliance with necessary regulations.

  15. Gain appropriate and necessary outside resources to ensure the annual business plan and planned projects are realized.

  16. Drive Operational Excellence, Lean tools, best practices and continuous improvement.

  17. Other tasks as assigned.

    SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Directly supervise multiple operations managers/supervisors, planners, buyers, warehouse and distribution operations, engineering and quality, and continuous improvement initiatives across the Plant.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Has the ability to energize and motivate people and to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to drive change in a fast-paced work environment
  • Proven track record of creating, implementing and/or sustaining a lean operation
  • Has led their organizations with a high level of integrity and accountability
  • Experience in developing, implementing and improving key performance indicator metrics through strong data analysis and continuous improvement

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree in Business or Operations related field, or BS in Engineering, or equivalent operational experience
  • MBA Preferred
  • Minimum 7 years progressive manufacturing management experience, of which 5 must include managing and directing activities of supervisors and developing people
  • Knowledge of Operations Management and modern manufacturing/quality methods/systems
  • Lean, Six Sigma, TPS, or DMAIC experience is suggested
  • Demonstrated motivational and leadership skills
