We currently have a second shift opening for a PRE-PRODUCTION PARTS PROCESSOR at our Torrance, California location. In this full-time hourly position you will carry out a variety of tasks in a fast-paced, schedule-driven environment to prepare incoming parts or subassemblies for assembly into our high-reliability products. You'll operate vacuum, air and various types of hydrogen atmosphere furnaces to fire and braze parts and components for traveling wave tubes (TWTs) and other products according to specified schedules. You may also perform sandblasting of component parts and assembly surfaces for TWTs and other related devices, prepare chemical process solutions and baths for pre-treating and chemical cleaning of parts, electroplate materials, and components, and perform incidental related duties as necessary.
After an initial training period on first shift, you'll be assigned to our second shift and eligible for an 8% shift differential pay premium at that time.
You will need previous relevant experience in a production or manufacturing environment; some experience with precision sandblasting, chemical solutions, or brazing operations is preferred. Other qualifications that will enable you to do this job successfully include:
A high degree of attention to detail while meeting processing schedules is necessary.
Requires good hand/eye coordination to work with precision parts.
Must be able to accurately follow detailed directions and read and interpret design drawings, engineering specifications, and process and equipment instructions.

Job Description: Summary
Initial consideration will be given to BD Pharm Systems associates.
Operate the RNS, ISM/Photon assembly inspection equipment per the documented procedures. Perform quality inspections, line clearances and record per the documented procedure and notify Quality and Rubber Parts leadership of issues.
This position supports other operations in Rubber parts as required by Leadership. Must be able to read, write, and communicate in English. Regular, punctual attendance is an essential job function.
Ability to speak, read and write English. Ensures compliance with BD quality systems, policies, procedures and practices and all local, state, federal and BD safety regulations, policies and procedures.
1.Light manual assembly, 100% inspection to packaging requirements and machine operation.
2.Must be familiar with specifications outlined in the process procedures, Quality Control Specifications, Drawings and GMP Manuals.
3.Perform and record quality checks and line clearances as required per documentation.
4.Will be required to wear appropriate apparel for entry into the clean room environment.

Under close supervision performs a variety of routine duties related to manual and automated assembly and or packaging. Assembles items at a pace consistent with the speed of the assembly line.
Assembles component parts, sub-assemblies or completed units. Includes electronic, electro-mechanical, mechanical, structural products, instrument, and plastic parts assembly.
May also be responsible for final inspection and packaging of completed assemblies to ensure compliance with all quality standards.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Performs a variety of repetitive operations to assemble precision, electromechanical or mechanical subassemblies where methods and sequence of assembly are clearly written and described.
Assembles components at a pace consistent with the speed of the assembly line, occasionally performing two or more assembly operations simultaneously.
Performs bar code transactions using Nypro Worldwide Bar Code System.
Fits, aligns, calibrates and adjusts parts and mechanisms to meet tolerances and product operating requirements, using various common hand tools and automated assembly tools such as drill press, ultra-sonic welders, heat and punch presses.
May operate a variety of machines including drilling and tapping machines, solvent bonding equipment, decorating/painting machines such as hotstampers and pad printers, ultra-sonic welders, date coders, and shrink-wrap machines.
Performs visual and dimensional inspection of parts to ensure conformance to specifications.
May be required to work with quality plans.
Monitors automation system for outputs (yield & utilization) and general performance.
Complete tracking documents and other related paperwork as required.
May assist in the set-up of an assigned assembly station.
May occasionally service automated system(s) for component replenishment and audible alarms.
Visually inspects component parts and assemblies, checking for defects that vary from quality standards.
May prepare boxes, pack, seal and label product(s).
Learns machine cleaning as required.
Learns to apply and support lean manufacturing principles.

TITLE: Production Associate – Seasonal Temporary Part Time Workers
NATURE OF WORK: Incumbents in this position work as part of a self directed work team having responsibility for assembling by hand an entire Auto/Truck/SUV seat or component of a seat. Team assemblers perform all tasks conducted by the team in the assembly process and rotate through all stations rather than being assigned to a specific task on a permanent basis. Incumbent will also perform various other duties.
