Description Classification: Non-Exempt Revised: 05/14/2014 Job Summary: The Garment Assembler prepares all clean garments for route delivery by identifying, inspecting, sorting, bundling and loading them according to route and customer. This position is sometimes referred to as Garment Tie Out or 10 Sort Feeder. Performs other tasks as required. Job Summary:
Under the direction of the Doghouse Supervisor, this position is accountable for folding and quality inspection of dyed garments. Communicate with team members when garments are imperfect and need to be redone.


Hours: Monday-Thursday, 6:30am-3pm, Friday 6:30am-12:30pm


Essential Job Functions:
Folding and quality inspection of garments. Requires turning shirts right side out, inspecting the front, back, sleeves and seams of each garment
Knowledge of Doghouse Dyeworks' acceptable standards of quality per garment; understanding manufacturing defects (hole/thread pull/missing button) and difference between spots and what is inherent to the dye process
Notify immediate supervisor of any problems concerning color, consistency or spotting on the garments
Pull defective garments from dye load as folding. All defective garments are to be labeled, folded and accounted for on the load sheet as the end of each load and taken to appropriate defect area
Read work profiles, change job status code on computer

Operate pad printing machine to pad print garments with correct label
Lifting up to 40 lbs throughout the day
Keep work area clean and orderly
Organize work flow
Follows safety practices. Identifies problems and works to resolve safety issues as they occur in accordance to OSHA standards
Works actively with others to get the job done
Other duties as assigned


Qualifications:

High school education desirable, but not required
Ability to work well in a team
Must be reliable, responsible and take direction well

  • Create technical specification packages and develop a selection of patterns/fit blocks for proto development within a given consumer group

  • Apply knowledge of the sourcing strategy, source base, fit, construction and design aesthetics to develop garments that will meet LS&Co product standards in a timely and cost effective manner

  • Collaborate with and influence Design in interpreting and translating aesthetic requirements into styling details that can provide commercially viable product for mass production

  • Attend / lead fittings and evaluate, document and communicate all proto/sales/production comments to the production locations

  • Act as a liaison between Design and Product Management for quality product execution and bulk production problem solving

  • Effective integration of all timeline processes with key internal and external stakeholders to meet all relevant "go to market" milestones

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree (7+ years combined college education, pattern-making training and work experience may be substituted for a degree); Design school degree a plus.

  • Experience with manual or computer aided pattern-making and grading

  • Drawing, flat sketching or Illustrator drawing experience

  • Proficiency with Word, Excel, CAD, Illustrator, PLM and Gerber Accumark Fit development a plus

  • Experience in the apparel industry focused on variety of fabrics and product types such as tops and bottoms, denim and wovens

    The Role
    Assemble, install, seal, rig, inspect, and complete precision and other structural and system components, working from drawings, documents, process specifications, quality control requirements, and established processes and procedures. Functional test and correct, fit form and function of assemblies and components.

    Key Accountabilities
    • Obtain required information from prints, charts, sketches, work instructions, documents, verbal and electronic information
