POSITION TITLE:  Assembly Operator
REPORTS TO:  Production Lead
LOCATION: Webstone- Worcester, MA
PERFORMANCE SUMMARYThe position is primarily responsible for performing activities to safely operate Machinery and following Assembly process(s) within the plant. Ensuring that production is maximized, while producing quality product.

  • Works safely in a manufacturing environment and demonstrates an awareness of hazards.
  • Assures accuracy of assembly by following the correct established standard work process.
  • Proficient with established assembly methods.
  • Operates testing, assembly and packaging equipment.
  • Assembles and reworks products as directed by team.
  • Receives and utilizes on-the-job training, classroom training.
  • Maintains equipment in accordance to established procedures.
  • Inputs, interprets and utilizes information obtained from SAP and other systems including reports generated by Logistics.
  • Communicates with other team members as needed.
  • Keeps work area clean and orderly meeting all required 6 S and housekeeping standards.
  • Other duties as assigned.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Minimum of A level experience.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:  High School diploma or GED required.
SKILLS REQUIRED:  A proven record of displaying the initiative to service the customer and promoting a positive attitude throughout the plant. Must be a self-starter with proven ability to organize, set priorities, and multi-task.  Knowledge of SAP is desirable.  General customer and team orientation, time management, commitment to company values, familiarity with NIBCO product lines and processes. Good attendance is required.

    We are seeking a Solderer: Assembly Operator to become an integral part of our team! You will perform assembly line tasks as well as identify areas of improvement to increase efficiency.

    Full-Time, Temp-to-Hire positions

    1st shift: Monday-Thursday, 7am-4:30pm, Friday, 7am-11am

    2nd shift: Monday-Thursday, 5pm-3:30am

    Production Machine - Assembly Operator

    Job Description

    Currently, we are seeking a highly motivated associate to join our facility in Newton, Iowa.   The Newton, Iowa plant manufactures parts and assemblies exclusively for distribution within the Whirlpool Repair Parts Supply Chain.

    The Production Operator will be responsible for performing various tasks to set up, operate, monitor, troubleshoot, and perform preventive maintenance on assigned machines.  The Production Operator will also be responsible for inspecting parts to specifications, and make adjustments, or tool changes as necessary to maintain quality specifications.  The production operator, may also assemble components and parts into sub assembly, or into finished kits or boxed product.

    Day to Day

    As an associate, you will need to be able to work in a fast paced, high-speed environment, follow standardized work, and adhere to safe work practices in a continuous improvement environment. Experience in a manufacturing environment is a plus.  Due to the wide variety of products produced, you can expect to operate several different machines and equipment, or manually assemble components into a finished product as needed to meet production requirements.


    What You Need To Succeed

    • Must be at least 18 years old
    • High School Diploma or GED
    • Must be able to stand up to 100% of the time, while working
    • Must be able to lift, carry and stack up to 50 pounds
    • Required to safely use precision hand tools, portable power tools, machine shop equipment and other equipment.
