This is a military technician position with the US Army Reserves.

Working Conditions: Works in shop buildings that are well lighted, heated, and ventilated. Stands on concrete floors or other hard surfaces for long periods. Exposed to oil, grease, and solvents when cleaning and lubricating weapons. Exposed to the possibility of minor cuts and bruises from tools and sharp edges of metal. Subject to noise when test firing weapons.

Diagnose and identify mechanical deficiencies and/or malfunctions in weapons, such as, automatic pistols, revolvers, shotguns, automatic rifles, grenade launchers, machine guns, rocket launchers, mortars, and other small arms and accessories. Disassemble weapons, assemblies, subassemblies and other components. After disassembly examine for defects, mechanical misalignment, and malfunctions. Replace barrels, firing pins, springs, trigger mechanisms, shell ejectors, sights, safety devices, bolts, stocks and other parts and assemblies. Modify small weapons by replacing obsolete parts. Apply finishing agents and test fires and/or perform operational checks of arms repaired to ensure safety, accuracy, and ease of operation. Applies modification work orders as required. Use hand and power tools, precision gauges, test instruments, jigs and alignment devices in making repairs, modifications, and adjustments to small arms. Ensure the accountability, storage, and security of arms and other sensitive items while they are kept for repair, usually in vaults with limited access. May serve as a commodity inspector during Command Maintenance Management evaluations (COMET) or as a member of a Maintenance Assistance Instruction Team (MAIT). Expert Staffing in partnership with Phillips-Medisize ( Formally Injectronics), has an opening for a 1st Shift Mold Repairer II

Objective:

Repair, maintain, and revise molds to ensure quality products with little to no guidance and/or

assistance. Provide expertise and coordination for mold repair/revision projects.


Key Responsibilities:

Repair and revise molds and secondary tooling

Troubleshoot complex mold problems and help keep production molds in efficient operating condition

Assembly and disassembly of all components required in mold repair process

Provide documentation for NC tool paths to the toolroom

Attend redline, AQP/PAR meetings if required

Schedule repair/revision work in order to meet due dates. Coordinate with and provide direction for others.

Evaluate new mold performance in production

Set up and operate toolroom equipment, including manual and/or CNC

Subcontract to vendors providing the required information in coordination with mold manufacturing/repair managers

May be responsible for heat treating all steels commonly used in mold manufacturing

May be responsible for welding including micro welding

Support/communicate with production team, other mold manufacturers/repairers, apprentices and engineers

Troubleshoot and assemble manifold system

Maintain tools so they stay in correct working order

Do minor maintenance on machines in toolroom

Ability to work in a team environment to assure tooling responsibilities are covered for production needs even on off shifts

May require being on call during weekends

Some programs may have vision requirements

Experience in supply procedures and property accountability. Experience collecting information and presenting it to various sized groups. Experience in planning a functional shop maintenance program is essential.

  • Ability to develop test standards

Job Description

SECRET CLEARANCE is required… you must have an ACTIVE secret clearance to be a candidate for this position.

Repair The COMSEC repairer is responsible for any troubleshooting and repairs of all COMSEC/controlled cryptographic devices and other electronic equipment (e.g. receiver/transmitters, both commercial and tactical, circuit cards, telecommunications devices, telephones, teletypes, intrusion detection systems, AOAP spectrometer and similar items and equipment). The COMSEC repairer may provide technical advice and assistance to lower level technicians.

Minimum Requirements

  • The COMSEC repairer must be able to test faulty equipment and apply comprehensive technical knowledge of functional operation of electronic units and systems to diagnose cause(s) of malfunctions, apply repairs and to solve complex problems.

  • The COMSEC repairer must have 5 years of experience in electronic repair/maintenance with a COMSEC certification and must be certified to repair KG-81, KG-82, KG-83, KG-84, KG-194, KY-57/58, KI-1C, KY-90, KY-68, KY-78, HGX-82, KGX-93, KT-83 & RT-1523.

  • Must have a U.S. Passport and a current Secret Security Clearance.
