The Crouse-Hinds division of Eaton, in Roanoke, is looking for an outstanding leader to join the team in the position of Assembly Supervisor! This position is responsible for supervising assembly associates in accordance with site policies and procedures, ensuring smooth operations during the shift, coordinating staffing, and execution towards departmental and site-wide goals. The position is a key leadership role within the Assembly Operation and is responsible for approximately 45 employees. The role is idea for a motivated self-starter who has a focus on continuous improvement and someone who is looking to take on larger roles in the future. This role will get complete exposure to the business as it is fully integrated within the Operations team. This role is also housed in the central Distribution Center for all of Eaton Crouse-Hinds, and therefore will have the unique experience of being able to gain exposure to different products and parts of the business as well. Essential Functions:
This role works with a wide range of people in varying roles across the organization, including hourly associates, site leadership, personnel at other Eaton facilities and outside suppliers. The position is responsible for coordination of the daily operational activities of the business unit. These duties are performed personally and through subordinates to ensure established business goals are met.
Supervise the activities of the assembly associates to assure that efficiencies are maximized and performance targets, both productivity related and customer service related, are achieved. Provide counseling as needed to improve performance, following established facility procedures.
Responsible for coordinating shift schedules to include: work assignments/rotations, employee training, employee vacations, employee breaks, overtime assignment, back-up for absent employees, and shift rotations
Responsible for monitoring employees’ working time, approving payroll information, enforcing company policies and standards, and addressing personnel issues as they arise.
Monitor group performance measurements and act as a catalyst to support improvement activities to achieve the established improvement goals.
Manage staffing levels to appropriate and efficient levels by working with Manager and Human Resources, and lead hiring initiatives and interviews for potential candidates for job openings
Provide a support function to the assembly associates. Interface with the associates, other departments Human Resources, other shift supervisors and managers as required to assure that needs are met as required to assure that support needed to achieve assembly requirements are provided in a timely fashion.
Provide timely answers to employees or steer them to the appropriate information source regarding requests for assistance or information.
Lead and participate in continuous improvement efforts and lean projects

¨ Lead and enforce safe working practices throughout the plant and all customer sites.
¨ Responsible for the proper execution of safety procedures/ training as outlined and identified by Fori Automation management, MIOSHA, and OSHA. Organize and follow-up as required with safety team responsibilities and confirm execution of required tasks.
· Follow and enforce good housekeeping practices as defined by leadership throughout the plant. Associate degree or equivalent and 5+ years of experience preferred
Basis knowledge of MS Office
Scheduling and planning skills
Bills of Material experience
Time management, organizational and communication skills
Blue print reading
Training and coaching skills
Strong mechanical background
Strong oral and written communication skills
Experience working with military quality systems is desired
