Assembly techs are an essential part to our manufacturing process. They are responsible for ensuring all our buildings meet customer specifications and are held up to PCI quality standards.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Install wall and roof panels
Cut and install insulation inside the walls of the building
Assist in basic housekeeping
Operate basic hand and power tools
Correctly read tape measure to cut materials to customer specs
Recognize and report hazards/ Apply safe work methods

1 year of related experience is preferred

Component Assembly Technician
Basic Function of the Job:
Assembly and testing of all C&S standard and non-standard components and sub-assemblies including, but not limited to: modulators, wave plates, polarizers, TFP's, scan lenses, etc. Responsible for testing of all assembled optical components per II-VI Infrared standards or customer specifications. In-house finishing of component parts. Generate weekly and monthly reports that show work accomplished, status of orders, and C&S backlog. Assist production supervisor in writing and implementing assembly, test procedures, and manuals. Assist Production Supervisor in maintaining and documenting confidential intellectual property.
- 2 year technical degree required
- 4 years in assembly work involving set procedures. Knowledgeable in Microsoft Word & Excel.
Ability to lift and handle assemblies weighing 50 lbs.
Laboratory conditions involving the use of assorted assembly tools and hand tools as well as acids and caustic solutions for cleaning of aluminum for anodization or chromate conversion processes.
High degree of concentration and extreme attention to detail is required with the assembly of products due to the complexity and value.
Good mechanical problem solving, organizational, and clerical skills.
Must have good communication and teamwork skills for department interfacing.
Knowledgeable in interpreting drawings and understanding electronic schematics.
Must be able to work safely with acids and bases.
Laboratory conditions involving the use of assorted assembly tools (e.g., Arbor press, hand tools, HeNe laser, He leak detector, and personal computer), as well as acids and caustic solutions for the cleaning of aluminum for anodization or chromate conversion processes. Laser marking area involves use of YAG laser and CO2 laser.
Mental/Visual Demand: High degree of concentration in the assembly of scan lenses, electro-optical modulators, and N.S.C. assembly packaging due to the complexity and value of product.

The primary responsibility of this technician will include manual soldering (include both solder wire and solder paste and epoxy), manual wire bonding, X ray and operation of the automatic semiconductor(microelectronics) assembly equipment including but not limited to SMT, Die Attach, Wire Bond. Will constantly use tweezer, multimeter, microscope, solder iron, hot plate tools.
Shift hours are 10:30am to 7pm Monday through Friday. Extended hours are expected.
Candidate should have associates degree or equivalent years of experience. They should be able to solder small component (01005 size like), LGA or BGA sample solder mounting to evaluation board and perform semiconductor assembly equipment.
Knowledge of the direct SMT/Die Attach/Wire bond equipment operation are strongly preferred. Excellent communication skills, ability to follow verbal and written instructions. Proficiency in Bench level/trouble shooting electronic equipment.
Ability to understand schematics and diagrams. Familiarity with handling RF chip devices in an ESD environment. Experience with MSOffice and Windows OS. Must have team-oriented attitude, accountability and ownership.
