Position Title: Assembly Technician
Reports to: Assembly Supervisor
Location: Maryville, TN
This position works closely with maintenance, engineering and scheduling to identify priorities and effectively coordinate Pen/Pencil/Wrapper activities. Will lead and direct all operators/packers in the designated cells. This position also includes trouble shooting, performing all machine adjustments and change overs.
Lead employees and maintain results by coaching, counseling and implementing cultural change and accountability within the designated cells.
Resolves maintenance and setup issues by active collaboration with maintenance, engineering and quality.
Prioritizes and executes planned production and change overs.
Assist with maintaining equipment condition through daily and weekly TPM actions.
Assure employees in the cell adhere to safety standards and exhibit safe work behaviors.
Responsible for keeping running tab of machine/material issues, current conditions to be reported in shift production meeting, including daily pass down between shifts.
Accountable for operators/packers daily 6's activities.
Ensure standard quality checks are performed properly and regularly by team members in the area, producing within specified scrap limit.
Ensure correct material is ordered and returned after completing work order.
Responsible for all cell scrap, orange tag, work order, order change, sample request, etc… data is collected and distributed as directed.
Assist and train cell operators on analysis and tracking of OEE. Make setup / change over improvement recommendations based on data.
Possess excellent leadership qualities
Willing and able to train, coach, mentor.
Understanding of 6s, PM and TPM.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (i.e. Word, Excel, Outlook, etc).

The Assembly Technician is responsible for manufacturing and shipping activities that will allow Accuray to provide products that meet customer needs and in accordance with regulatory requirements.
Manufacturing & Operations
Perform or assist in received materials, in-process product, and final product inspection/test.
Participate in development and review of manufacturing procedures to help ensure manufacturing requirements and goals are achieved.
Assist in development of manufacturing instructions, that document and control the manufacturing process.
Assist the development of manufacturing tool and fixture requirements, and promote ongoing control.
Assist the training of manufacturing area personnel, as required.
Assist in deployment of product changes (CN's) to ensure correct implementation.
Assist the development of facility requirements to accommodate production, including workflow, shelving, other storage, and workstations.
Assist review of packaging and shipping requirements so the product can be transported to the customer without damage.
Assist operation of the Material Rejection Area (MRA) to promote resolution of material issues, including the promotion of timely corrective action by the supplier(s).
Provide feedback to Engineering personnel concerning manufacturing needs and product enhancements that would improve both quality and ease of manufacturing/servicing of the product.
Interface and support regulatory affairs as required to help ensure production processes and facilities are in accordance with FDA, OSHA and other applicable regulations.
Implementation and use of special facility controls that may be required, for example ESD, cleanliness, etc.
SAFETY AND QUALITY
Ensure safety and quality considerations and requirements are pro-actively addressed and implemented in product production processes.
Assist in the timely resolution of safety and quality issues raised by customers or staff.
Supports Accuray's Quality System and Safety and Health Program by following procedures and advising others.
The employee must regularly lift and/or move physical inventory weighting up to 75 pounds.
The employee is frequently required to climb ladders, kneel, crouch, or crawl as required during the manufacturing, inspection, and testing of Accuray's components and products.

Associate degree in a production, manufacturing engineering, general engineering field, or at least three years experience working in manufacturing or engineering activities.

Experience in product testing and understanding of calibration control.
Experience in ESD and cleanliness special control processes.

PURPOSE OF POSITION:
The role of Assembly Technician is production and packaging of a variety of manufactured products. The Assembly Technician is a support role for several areas within manufacturing. MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Perform installation, repair, inspection, reassembly, replacing, refitting, and adjusting products as required.
- Order and stock materials and supplies to avoid materials shortages.
- Receive, unload, unpack and transfer materials to different work stations.
- Develop preventive maintenance procedures to avoid any breakdowns and failures.
- Maintain work area clean, safe and orderly.
Experience in hardware assembly preferred. Experience or any certifications held in controls and instrumentation, equipment maintenance, manufacturing experience, manufacturing quality, mechanical inspection tools, tooling, safety management, qualty focus, power tools & forklift operation will be highly regarded.
This position requires a good command of the English language in order to provide effective communication within a team setting.
This position involves projects and/or assignments requiring decision-making authority regarding procedures, plans, and schedules. Although there are sometimes problem-solving guidelines for particular problems, there may be no existing procedures or instructions for those problems. The technician may be on their own in solving problems and determining satisfactory solutions. Ability to work independently and in a team setting is imperative.

This position is responsible for the assembly of pumps and other components produced at the Columbia Pump Assembly Production facility. Ensures all pump assemblies and components are completed and shipped to meet the specifications and delivery requirements of our customers. Products produced are of the highest level of quality.
Duties & Responsibilities
Responsible for the complete assembly of pumps and components in compliance with customer and order requirements.
Consults with Production Manager or Assembly Lead man to resolve any production issues discovered during assembly of pumps.
All work must be accomplished within quality and time/cost standard requirements established by the order and the company.
The incumbent is responsible for insuring that all work is performed to the highest level of quality and safety.
Position is also responsible for testing, tagging, packing, creating and loading of product as required by the order and company procedure.
Assists with other production warehouse functions such as pulling, picking, shipping and receiving of parts and components as directed by production manager.

An Assembly Technician I, works in the warehouse as part of the production team. The Assembly Technician is responsible for assembling product per requirements, following internal assembly instructions and industry standards with the goal of achieving high quality results in an efficient time frame.
