Position Objective
To print custom, backorders and stock items in order to meet customer needs and demands in a timely manner, as well as controlling quality of work in the Offset Press area to ensure customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

  • Print work orders based on importance, priority, and time frame as established by operations manager.
  • Complete assigned work orders and ensure all work is done within specified time frames.
  • Check progress of assigned orders, making sure all orders will be completed and are completed in assigned order.
  • Perform ongoing quality control checks on all printed materials to ensure they meet all quality standards in order to increase customer satisfaction.
  • Conduct weekly/monthly label inspection of chemicals used in Printing Department.
  • Assist Operations Manager with any issues that may arise with the quality of work and performance of machinery.
  • Print orders following the information and specifics listed on the work order with an emphasis on accuracy. Ask questions when necessary.
  • Measure stock and cut it appropriately for the specific work order when necessary.
  • Conduct weekly maintenance on machinery, reporting any issues or problems to appropriate supervisor.
  • Maintain an organized and clean work area in order to efficiently produce materials.
  • Return and file all artwork to its designated area on a daily basis.
  • Take inventory of materials for the week and month as needed.
  • Continually learning new processes to increase efficiency as well as maintaining proficiency in operation of all current equipment, including but not limited to all offset and finishing equipment.

  • Clean plate processor on a monthly basis in order to maintain the efficiency of the machine.

  • Work is done in the warehouse area, dress appropriate for climate
  • Daily functions require use of several pieces of equipment including but not limited to: Offset Press and most finishing machinery within the Warehouse/Production area.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities
Machine Production

  • Sets up machine per individual job instructions;
  • Runs machine at optimal speed, established by job instructions and meets production standards;
  • Performs adjustments on machine to ensure optimal productivity;
  • Loads components onto machine per job instructions;
  • Performs regular quality checks on all components and finished packages to ensure quality standards are met;
  • Recalibrates and cleans the equipment as required;

Position Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent is required, minimum of 3 years experience as a W&D Inserter Operator Assistant or 2 years experience running production equipment.
