Manual Press Operator - 3Rd Shift/Byron Center
Set-up and adjust power presses to perform operations such as punch, blank, notch, shear, form, draw, upset, coin rivet, etc, on a diversified line of work having close dimensional and work quality requirements. Pay range for this position is $12.50 - $15.50 p/hr. 3rd shift premium = 50 cents Set up of line tools. Position, align and secure dies by bolting bottom section to press bed or bolster plate and upper section to ram; set up and ensure the proper operation of safety operating devices. Set up and synchronize automatic material feed for dimensional and press ram action, including roll, hitch, dial and magazine mechanisms, and load material on reels or in bins. Operate press to produce pilot pieces for inspection of hole size, dimensions, contours, shape, etc. Use and interpretation of scale, square, check fixtures, calipers and related inspection equipment, micrometers, patterns and samples to set up presses, check work and perform SPC. Perform routine P.M.s and responsible for housekeeping of work areas. Packing items produced into cartooning or containers. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Manual Control System Lead
This opening is for a manual controls and pilotability lead for the NASA Orion Multi-Purpose Crew Vehicle (Orion MPCV) Program on the Guidance, Navigation and Control team. Duties include:
Development, test and integration of algorithms that execute the manual control the Orion vehicle. Work closely with the other subsystems and the NASA crew office to ensure design meets vehicle needs and the software meets the objectives for mission success. Support testing of the GNC subsystem in the integrated test labs.
Support verification by analysis and test of GNC software produced through MATLAB/Simulink autocode. Basic Qualifications Must have experience with algorithm design, analysis, simulation, and testing. Must have experience with manual control of human in the loop systems.
Must have communication skills including the ability to speak, write and listen in a manner that clarifies issues, promotes closure, and delivers information in a clear and concise manner and facilitates decision making. Must be proficient with MATLAB/Simulink. Must have Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a "Hard Science" (e.g.
Computer Science, Physics, etc) with 9 years of professional experience or 7 years of related experience with a related Masters degree. Position Summary: The responsibility of the Auger Set-Up & Operator is Set-up and operate machine to perform a normal range of finish forming operations using various sizes of coil steel. Essential Job Duties:
Work from blueprints, operation sheets, or customer orders. Use adjustable and fixed measuring devices. Hand-feed coil steel into roller stock guides.
Check work frequently for quality of steel, pitch, I.D., O.D., and shaft dimensions; make adjustments and corrections as necessary or required. Cut and stock material. Change and spot welding roller arms, adjust pitch and cup arms for various sizes and angles of product; grind cones as necessary; operate forklift truck to load and unload coiled steel and finished material.
Set-ups are exacting and occasionally somewhat difficult, requiring use of cones and rollers positioned to make correct pitch, shaft, I.D., and O.D. dimensions. Tolerances are close and at times may be somewhat difficult to maintain. Detect faulty operation of equipment or defective material and refer unusual cases to supervisor.
Maintain equipment and work area in proper manner. Must be knowledgeable in and practice all safety procedures. Responsible for quality:
Accept training in blueprint reading, use of gauges and measuring tolls common to manufacturing, along with related statistical process control principles and other quality control procedures. Other duties as assigned. Education and/or Experience:

We have an opening for a Manual Lathe Operator with a minimum of 3 years’ experience. Must be able to do own set-ups and read blue prints. Monitor and verify quality in accordance with inspection process or other control procedures. Check and inspect parts and operation of machines utilizing blueprint dimensions and prescribed gauges. Maintain and assure all associated documentation is correct and complete. Employee’s to seek clarification when appropriate on routine assignments. Need to keep machines and work area, both clean and safe. Maintain constant alert of hazardous conditions by auditing the use of safety devices, equipment and general housekeeping. Responsible for setting up and operating an automatic or manual textile screen printing press according to written and/or verbal instructions, established company procedures, safety, and quality guidelines. Capable of solving printing problems, making adjustments to the mechanical operation of the press to keep quality, registration, color, and production speed at optimum. Has the good understanding of inks, solvents, and can print line, halftone, and seven-color copy on a variety of substrates by performing the following duties personally or through assistant personnel.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Receives production order and job assignments from the supervisor. Reads job order to verify quantity to be printed, overrun tolerance, the color sequence, and the substrate.
- Obtains production screens and check them for proper color sequence and quality.
- Places production screens in proper color position on the press and properly align and position the screens.
- Tests the registration of the print design by allowing the machine to cycle automatically, printing on material scraps until one scrap is printed with the complete design.
- Inspect the print for proper location relative to garment size.
- Secures supervisor approval for production run.
- Sets dryer for proper drying or curing.
- Prints job maintaining optimum production rate, color density, registration, and quality standard within established company and customer guidelines, replacing misprinted or unacceptable garments to obtain customer order quantities.
- Solves printing problems.
- Prints line, halftone and four-color copy on a variety of substrates.
- Responsible for directing the work of press helper and catcher/folder/inspector.
- Completes production records.
- Ensures proper cleanliness of press, workstation, and immediately press area by returning unused ink to ink room, removing trash, rags, and extra press sheets.
- Trains press helper to operate the press.
