Lead Cardiovascular Technician
The Lead Cardiovascular Technologist (LCVT) is a health care professional that, through the utilization of specialized equipment and under the direction of a qualified, credentialed physician, participates in procedures on patients resulting in accurate diagnosis/evaluation of and optimal treatment of congenital, structural, or acquired heart disease while maintaining and providing maximum patient safety and quality. In addition, the LCVT must have knowledge of vascular disease processes and interventional procedures related to treatment.
The LCVT evaluates patient response to diagnostic studies with and without interventional treatment, to include complete right and left heart cath, pharmacologic and pacing studies, and numerous interventional approaches both percutaneous and hybrid. The LCVT should be proficient in AHA Basic and Advanced Cardiac Life Support as it pertains to the patient population being treated. The LCVT must demonstrate proficiency in the operation and maintenance, as specified by the manufacturer, of all diagnostic and therapeutic equipment used for Peds Cardiac Cath (PCCL) Lab procedures.
The LCVT serves in four primary roles including scrub assistant, fluoroscopy equipment operator/Radiation Safety Officer, Circulator, along with patient monitoring/procedural documentation. The PCCL LCVT attends weekly case conference with Peds Cardiology and Peds CT Surgery service lines, assisting in the coordination of care and case preparation. The LCVT is also responsible for the training, competencies, and assists in evaluating team performance of other CV technologists.
The LCVT technologist must be a high school graduate and have completed an accredited program of study in radiology or cardiopulmonary technology and/or significant experience in a related field. LCVT must have a minimum of 3-5 years of experience in the related field, a working knowledge of cardiopulmonary radiology procedures, interventions, Intra-procedural point of care testing skills, and computer data entry.
LCVT must be able to read and write complex documents including equipment manuals, medical and supply inserts, training materials, etc. Must also possess basic computer skills, a working knowledge of e-mail communication, and IS knowledge relative to hemodynamics and imaging. The LCVT must have the ability to work with minimal supervision, develop teaching resources for less experienced PCCL team members and students, and serve as a leader for cath lab operations. BLS(AHA) and Advanced Life Support is required.

Basic Function: It is the primary responsibility of the Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) to administer all forms of the respiratory care to patients in accordance with physician orders and most recent clinical standards to patients.
Care will include oxygen therapy, administration of therapeutic aerosols, pulmonary clearance techniques, arterial blood gas draws and interpretation, basic spirometry, mechanical ventilation, emergency life support procedures and airway maintenance. The therapist will also be expected to function as a work group leader and team leader in the absence of the Lead Therapist and work with patients, families and other healthcare professionals in a manner that supports institutional and department mission, vision and values. Additional responsibilities include air/ground transport of neonatal/pediatric critical care patients from other hospitals.
Minimum Requirements (Education, Experience, Licensure, Skills): Graduate of an AMA approved Respiratory Therapy program with Associates or Baccalaureate Degree and a certification of completion. Must possess a current American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS certification.
Other Requirements: Must have current license to practice Respiratory Care in the state of Georgia (RCP). Must be RRT or new grad CRT within one year of graduation. New grads must become RRT by first anniversary of program completion for continued employment.

Dir Clinical Quality Excellenc
The Director, Clinical Quality Excellence is responsible for the planning and execution of AU Medical Center's overall Quality and Performance Improvement activities health system wide including the AUMC, Children's Hospital of Georgia, and its ambulatory clinics. The Director will have oversight of Infection Prevention, Quality Measure Collection and Submission, Medical Staff Peer Review, Nursing Peer Review, Patient Safety Program, and Regulatory and Accreditation Compliance and Readiness.
Develops strategic plans for standards in a manner that promotes a culture or organization excellence. Develops strategic plans for the health care improvement function within the facility in collaboration with the administrative and clinical leaders of the health system. The Director will also collaborate and cooperate with Risk Management and compliance, Nursing, Medical Staff, Care Facilitation, and Patient Experience to assure strategic initiative to achieve the highest quality, satisfaction, and safety of care for our patients with the goal of national recognition in these areas.

Under the Direction of the Coding, Audit, Compliance and Education Leadership, performs/facilitates departmental, interdepartmental and external coding audits to ensure quality, completeness, and accuracy of coding and compliance with Federal and State Regulations. The Provider Documentation Analyst (PDA) will utilize professional billing and coding expertise to review professional service encounters for completeness and appropropriateness and compliance with professional billing guidelines. Through retrospective evaluation of the medical record along with communication with physicians and other clinicians, the PDA will be responsible for achieving improved documentation results for the organization.
