In this role, the Engineering Design Checker will:
- Analyze fabrication drawings and BOM drawings for accuracy and conformance to customer specifications.
- Review drawings to insure that they are complete and accurately reflect customer requirements and engineering design as defined in the customer specifications and engineering calculations.
- Performs required calculations to insure all dimensions, tolerance limits, and other affecting documentation are correct as presented.
- Sign drawings verifying that depicted information, to the best of their knowledge is correct with no known errors or omissions.
- Assist modelers in clarifying specification ambiguities and instructs on required drawing changes.
- Work with fabrication facilities to resolve any problems that may arise during fabrication.
- Minimum of five years experience preparing drawings or in fabrication of Tubular poles.
- Demonstrate a strong understanding of Steel Structures modeling process, and the ability to convey this information to others.
- Familiar with drawing standard symbols, nomenclature, reference books and catalogs normally encountered in the product development process.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate ideas, both verbal and written.
- Associates or Bachelor s degree in engineering or other technical field a plus, or three years similar experience.

Some Challenges You Will Tackle:
- Check engineering drawings for spacecraft applications.
- Perform tolerance analysis and dimensional management utilizing ASME Y14.5-2009 withrespect to form, fit and function.
You Must Have:
- An active Top Secret clearance (unless such clearance is in place based on a Single Scope Background Investigation(SSBI) within the last 5 years) and be able to be approved for Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) access.Typically requires a Bachelor s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related technical discipline with a minimum of 3 years of related experience or an Associate's degree in a related technical discipline with a minimum 6 years of related experience or a High School diploma with a minimum of 10 years of related experience.
- Complete knowledge of ASME Y14.5-2009 for complete definition of part geometry, datum reference systems and interchangeability.
- Extensive experience utilizing the ASME Y14.100 and ASME Y14 composite set for engineering documentation compliance.
- Thorough knowledge of space application materials, processes, component selection, and parts list entries.
- Advanced NX CAD skills to review detail and assembly model geometry utilizing UGNX and Teamcenter Unified Architecture.
