Automotive Body Repair Technician
The collision technician performs high-quality repairs to collision damaged components and assemblies.
The essential duties of this position are:
Disassemble and reassemble vehicle components and assemblies
Remove, install and align welded-on and bolted-on parts
Perform MIG and STRSW welding
Perform steel sheet metal repairs
Perform plastic and composite repairs
Prepare all repair areas for refinish procedures
Notify refinish team when completed vehicles are ready to be painted
Protect adjacent panels and vehicle from additional damage
Identify all additional damage and communicate findings in a timely manner to allow for required approvals and/ or purchasing of additional parts if necessary
Perform test drives- Reports findings to production manager
Keep work area clean and organized at ALL times
Keep shop equipment clean and in good working condition
Assist other technicians as needed
Follow and comply with all SOP’s.
Assist in developing or refining standard operating procedures as required

The working conditions for this position include:
Work both inside and outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions.
Frequently required to use personal protective equipment to prevent exposure to hazardous materials.
May be asked to work overtime and weekends occasionally
May occasionally walk on slippery or uneven surfaces.
Will work on elevated surfaces on an occasional basis.

About the Position: Located in central New Jersey, Burlington County, Fort Dix is 72 miles southwest of New York City, 34 miles northeast of Philadelphia, and is included in the New York locality pay area. The employee must stand on hard surfaces for extended periods of time. Vehicle fluids, such as battery acid and hydraulic fluids, may cause burns or irritate the skin. There is frequent exposure to the possibility of cuts, bruises, shocks, burns and strains. May be required to work in awkward positions and cramped quarters for short periods of time. Possibility of injuries from falls while climbing onto and off equipment. Employee is required to use protective clothing or gear such as masks, safety shoes, goggles, hearing protection, safety glasses and gloves.
