Siemens Postal, Parcel and Airport Logistics is hiring Baggage Handling System Mechanics in support of the team located at the Newark International Airport location. This position requires experience and knowledge in the responsibilities as outlined.
Performing maintenance, repair, troubleshoot, and test of the Baggage Handling System and it's associated components.
Provide accurate and timely written reports of safety, and operational and maintenance issues.
Physical requirements may include, but are not limited to, lifting (50 pounds), bending, reaching, climbing, walking, crawling, standing, sitting, climbing stairs, speaking, sight, and/or hearing to complete the job duties.
Interpret data and suggest maintenance schedule/activity adjustments to the Manager.
Update daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance activities schedule.
Order and maintain a stock of spare parts necessary for proper servicing of the BHS.
To ensure all Preventative and Predictive Maintenance practices and procedures are scheduled and followed.
Performing Emergency repairs.
General cleanup of work areas.

Maintenance work flow training (scheduling, PM tasking, work order creation, etc…)
Adhering to safety regulations and safe work practices.

SUMMARY OF ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
As a Baggage Handler/Ramp Operator, you are required to safely lift, load, unload, and transport baggage, mail, and cargo to and from aircraft, in addition to being responsible for on-time connections by guiding incoming and departing aircrafts from the gate positions. In addition, it is important to safeguard cargo, baggage and mail from damage, loss, and weather.
Additional duties include safely driving and operating ground equipment such as tugs, belt loaders, and tow tractors in areas of congestion. Baggage Handlers/Ramp Operators are required to safely operate sophisticated machinery, work comfortably in extremely loud environment and work at height, in addition to several other strenuous, repetitive lifting tasks that will involve placing baggage in aircraft bins and on transport carts. Tasks require use of computers to read, enter information, and operate baggage scanners as well as assist with record keeping and documentation to ensure baggage and cargo are routed correctly to the passenger's destination.
You could also work in the bag room which requires repeatedly lifting and loading baggage onto carts and ensuring each bag reaches its destination. Don't forget that Delta employees practice and advocate engaging in safety-conscious behaviors during all activities. It is required to understand the importance of safety and have the ability to be constantly alert in an always changing work environment.
OTHER ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES - PHYSICAL WORK CONDITIONS
You will work primarily outdoors in elements such as extreme heat, cold, rain, ice, wind, and snow. This job requires frequently lifting bags or items weighing up to 50 pounds.
This job also requires occasionally lifting bags or items weighing between 50 and 70 pounds. Work tasks include bending, stooping and twisting, standing, and walking. Work tasks are repetitive such as loading and stacking bags in addition to working in confined spaces and on knees for an extended period of time in the aircraft bins.

Stocks aircraft with needed supplies for lavatories or galleys.
Loads bag carts in the bag room with baggage from the ticket counter for outgoing flights and delivers them to aircraft.
Loads passenger baggage, cargo and mail into aircraft bins while plane is parked at the gate from bag carts.
Pushes back outbound aircraft out of the gate area.
Tows aircraft to remote areas at the airport if there are too many aircraft on the ground and not enough gate space.
Performs FOD walks in the ramp area between flights.
Ensures necessary ground equipment is available in the ramp area and bag room for upcoming flights.
Performs assigned administrative duties on a voluntary basis (e.g. GSE fluid inspections and appearance, FOD walks, washing equipment and removing trash from ramp area).

During training: Up to 10 days full-time, typically Monday - Friday. Training will be conducted in Honolulu and may be unpaid. Transportation to and from training is provided.
If hired: schedules are awarded on a seniority basis. Work schedules may be part-time or full-time.
Part-time and full-time shift schedules are 5 days on, 2 days off. Days off may not necessarily be consecutive. Schedules are set, however, may change throughout the year in conjunction with the collective bargaining agreement. Part-time is 20 - 30 hours per week and may be extended up to 40 based on operational need and in conjunction with the union contract.

About the Airport Ramp Services Training Pool:
Candidates in the Airport Ramp Services Training Pool from this recruitment will be can be considered for the Ramp Agent and Contract Serviceman position.
If you are successful in the screening process and identified as a candidate to be considered for training, you will be placed into the training pool.
Final candidates from the screening process will remain in the training pool through June 30, 2018. Candidates not invited for training by then will need to re-apply for the training opportunity.
Candidates in the pool may be invited to attend training provided by Hawaiian Airlines, which is unpaid. The training session is up to two weeks (typically Monday – Friday). If invited to training, you will have an opportunity to learn general airline operations, regulatory and safety concepts.
Ramp Agent Duties:
Under direct supervision of a higher classification or Supervisor, performs any one or combination of ramp operationsto ensure the safe and timely delivery of guest baggage, while maintaining the safety and security of the ramp at all times.
Ramp personnel perform duties and activities relating to the following:
The safe handling, loading and unloading of baggage, cargo, mail and company materials (COMAT) on all aircraft types
Safe operation of ground service equipment in connection with above duties and only after proper training.
Contract Serviceman Duties:
Contract Servicemen are Hawaiian Airlines employees who assist other airlines with their ramp and cleaner duties. The other airlines contract Hawaiian Airlines to provide services for their flights.
Loading, stowing and unloading of all cargo and baggage in accordance with flight loading plans.
Pickup and delivery of all cargo, including mail, express, baggage, freight Company material, commissary supplies.
Preparation, reporting and accounting of necessary documents relating to work performed.
Cleaning of aircraft baggage pits and immediate work areas.
Operation of automotive equipment in connection with the above duties, and only after proper training.
Insert and remove chocks and safety lines.
When mechanical personnel are not immediately available for the assignment, receive and dispatch aircraft.
May also be required to perform the duties of Cleaners: limited to cleaning of offices in surrounding areas and aircraft. Such duties may be assigned only as the needs of the service require.

This position is part of the Grant Aviation ground crew that loads, unloads, and prepares aircraft for scheduled and charter flights. Our Ramp Agents are friendly and caring staff who work behind-the-scenes to ensure that our flights leave on time, in a safe and efficient manner. Ramp Agents are responsible for the receipt, storage, and movement of cargo, including US Mail, and interface with our passengers as they load and unload baggage from flights and book cargo. We have Ramp positions at multiple bases in our areas of operation. Ramp Agents are hourly employees with flexible schedules. We offer both full-time and part-time positions.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND JOB FUNCTIONS
Report to work on time and with a friendly and positive attitude.
Receive, process, store, and load or unload cargo.
Operate Material Handling Equipment such as forklifts.
Assist with customer service issues.
Assisting passenger with special needs.
Process inbound and outbound mail shipments.
Process various reports and computer data input.
Interface with customers in person, by email, or over the phone
Other duties as required by management.
POSITION REPORTING STRUCTURE
- Reports to the Station Manager and works in conjunction with the Station Agent.
MEASURES OF SUCCESS

Accurate and timely processing of mail and other cargo.
Accurate and timely processing of payments and related accounting reports.

SCA - Travel Coordinator/Administrative Support Associate, Nasa Armstrong, Edwards Afb, CA
Performs a variety of travel coordination and clerical duties to include typing, filing, and operating office machines. Duties will include generating travel arrangements, obtaining authorizations, coordinating arrangements with corporate travel and travelers, general personnel/clerical tasks in such areas as employee records, employment, compensation, handling mail and other correspondence, uniform orders and payroll adjustments. Completes special projects as assigned. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office software. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to work as part of a team is required. Must have strong organizational skills and be self-motivated to meet customer requirements. Will use custom software to process travel and other payments.
Plans itinerary and schedules travel accommodations for personnel.
Verifies travel order to insure authorization.
Notifies personnel of travel dates, baggage limits, and medical/visa requirements.
Submits for and tracks travel advances.
Assist personnel in completing travel forms and other business transactions pertaining to travel.
Audit all Travel and Base Fund expense reports for accuracy and supporting documentation required.
Assist in maintaining detailed account of outstanding travel advances.
Support the HR with new hire orientation process for hires to include collecting payroll forms, completing I-9 verifications, and creating personnel folder.
Maintain HR records of NASA Armstrong staff and file paper as well as electronic copies of supporting documentation.
Initiate visit requests and schedule conference rooms.
Able to work any assigned shift or schedule, including mission support outside normal duty hours.
Work with little instruction, except review of accomplishments and conformance to policy.
Receives, opens and distributes mail and electronic correspondence daily.
Processes timekeeping corrections and specialty pay submissions.
Files materials into an established filing system, obtains information as needed.
Records data onto records, logs, forms or claims; maintains and processes these documents as necessary.
Assists coworkers and those in other departments to successfully perform job tasks and functions when necessary.
Follows all safety procedures and practices as established by the company and regulatory bodies.
Prepare and submit monthly reports.
Inventory and order office supplies as required.

High School Diploma or Equivalent with 1 year experience as travel coordinator and administrative support. Associate Degree preferred.
Must be familiar with Microsoft Office Suite

Ability to work within a group dynamic with focus on customer service
Must be able to pass a background investigation to obtain a public trust position (if required for the position).
Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance (if required for the position).
Must be able to work weekends, other shifts and overtime as required.
