Job overview and responsibilities The Senior Staff Rep Ramp Planning role has been established to develop, redesign and align policies and procedures associated with ramp and baggage processes. This role will include expanded communications functions and is responsible for the development of communications standards related to baggage and ramp policy and procedure. This role will also partner with Airport Operations Training to develop training curriculum for employees managing the operations in ramp and baggage environment. This position will also coordinate content in Flying Together / ramp and baggage content, etc. Establishes and maintains critical cross-divisional relationships at Headquarters and in the Field to ensure successful execution of key company initiatives.
Interface with cross-divisional stakeholders such as Baggage Resolution Center, Flight Operations, Onboard, AO regulatory compliance team members and the field to continually develop and improve ramp and baggage policy, procedure and supporting technologies resulting in industry leading internal/external customer experiences
Ideate, project manage and execute a prioritized portfolio of complex cross-divisional projects related to ramp and baggage operations, from idea and analysis stage, through development and testing of the product using test plans, as well establish quality assurance workflows to ensure successful deployment of programs
Issue policy and procedure guidance directly to the field and partner with the training department to develop any relevant educational materials
Attends and participates in industry ramp and baggage related meetings and interfaces with AO Execution team, addressing opportunity to align with IATA and other best practices to enable the continuous improvement in ramp and baggage processes
Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent work experience)
Intimate knowledge of airport policy and procedure
Strong written and verbal communication skills, to inclduce MS Office proficiency, strong technology skills + 3 to 4 years of operations experience, of which a minimum 2 years experience is in a leadership role
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship
Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualification
Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position

Eliminates counter congestion by providing information giving directions, and assisting passengers with their problems. Process claims for damaged or lost luggage and personal articles. Maintains daily, weekly, and monthly records and reports of lost or mishandled baggage, damaged baggage, lost and found articles, cash settlements and delivery arrangements and expense.
Receives complaints from passengers for unchecked articles. Completes necessary forms and arranges for delivery of articles when located. Serves customers in a caring, efficient and diplomatic manner.
Resolves customer problems in a mutually beneficial manner. May also be required to stock counter and storage areas. Communicates with customers over the telephone when researching passenger complaints.

Reads and completes international manifest forms for shipments to international destinations. Lift, bend, reach, stretch, and turn to stock baggage counter, and storage area. May require standing on step stools or ladders in order to reach storage racks and baggage holding cages to remove and /or place boxes, suitcases, and other items weighing up to 70 lbs.
Must be able to work alone or with minimal supervision. Must report to work on a regular and timely basis. Most of the above functions are normally performed within certain narrow time constraints that are usually dictated by the actual arrival of an aircraft and its scheduled departure.
The failure to perform these functions may result in poor customer perceptions causing a loss of revenue (i.e. passenger inconvenience caused by lost baggage or delayed aircraft departures).
