Machine Operator- Bakery
1. Set machines and account for all product.
2. Direct, train and oversee all work performed by his/her crew.
1. Inspect packaging equipment before start up.
a. Report any repairs needed to packaging foreman and / or supervisor.
2. Set up bagger , slicer, and kwick lock to properly code each variety.
3. Assure that sufficient amounts of wrapping material, and correct and correct codes are on hand prior to the beginning of each variety. Notify the foreman immediately of any shortage.
4. Assure that the product is in the correct bag.
5. Adjust the bagger, slicer, and kwick lock machines throughout the run to maintain the highest quality wrap.
6. Monitor kwick locks throughout the run to assure correct dates and codes on all product are legible.
7. Monitor the slicing of all required products, throughout the run to assure proper slicing and/ or numbers of slices required per product.
8. Fill orders according to the wrap reconciliation report. Assure a precise count on all varieties.
9. Provide trays, boxes, baskets, etc. to the tailer as needed.
10. Keep boxes of bagging material off the floor. Return all partial wickets back to their original box. Keep of bags closed when not in use.
11. Return unused bags to bag return table.
a. Ensure unused bags are in its proper case and the date of use and the initial of the machine operator are written on the case.
12. Neatly place rewraps on bread racks or in trays off the floor.
a. Rework rewraps at the end of each variety or when time permits.
13. Immediately notify the foreman or supervisor of any substandard product or shortage.
14. Fill out the wrap reconciliation report at the end of each variety run. Record all unit count.
15. Separate waste into the proper containers. Paper in grey, cripples in yellow barrels.
16. Assure that any split runs, adds, cuts, or shortage information is recorded and given to the foreman and the next shift operator.
17. Instruct and train the packers on his/ her shift.
18. Keep work station clean. Do not leave work station at the end of your shift until the area is clean.
19. Perform any other duties as instructed by the foreman and / or supervisors.
