Apply survey information to create designs and drawings for various engineering and planning projects including base mapping, sanitary sewers and presentation layouts. Design new sewers in established neighborhoods. Design/drafting for sewer rehabilitation projects as well as support for development review.
Respond to customer and public inquiries and complaints; explain and interpret codes, policies, standards, fees, and procedures to members of the public, contractors, engineers, architects and other public or utility organization employees to resolve problems; improve understanding of City programs and to ensure adherence to procedures in complex technical matters. Attend community and neighborhood meetings related to the program.
Research utility requirements for new developments and existing services; review utility plans from consultants and engineers. Conduct research of ownership, legal descriptions or other such data needed to complete information required in preparation of Public Works Capital Improvement Projects.
Perform onsite visits throughout the life of a project; collect field data, verify conditions, note potential or developing problems, and make recommendations. Drive a city vehicle in a safe and appropriate manner in order to travel between various assigned worksites.
Participate in the preparation of documents and related procedures relative to Public Works Capital Improvement Projects including public meeting information, plans and bid documents. Coordinate public works projects with applicable city, state and federal officials and other relevant agencies and parties.

Education and Experience
Equivalent to an Associate of Arts/Science degree from an accredited college with major course work in engineering or a related field.
Two (2) years of increasingly technical engineering experience is required in sanitary sewer engineering or related discipline.
One (1) year of AutoCAD Civil 3D with work including pipe networks is preferred.
Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.
Basic skills in Geographic Information Systems.
Intermediate skills in Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel;
Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D.

This position requires self-driven individuals responsible for program management of large CSO and SSO projects. Candidate must have capital planning and project delivery experience, including design and construction. Familiarity with federal and state regulatory programs related to CSO and SSO control and familiarity with current wet-weather overflow control technologies for CSO and SSO control is a plus. Candidate shall have excellent written and verbal communication skills, as well as strong analytical and problem solving skills.
Storm Drainage Maintenance Worker (Storm Sewer Maintenance)
Inspects, cleans, and maintains storm sewer inlets.
Operate Hydro-Cleaner and vacuum truck to remove dirt and debris from storm sewer inlet boxes and drains;
Inspect storm sewer with video camera to determine condition;
Replace lid or lid ring as needed;
Record and classify debris removed from drains;
Set up proper traffic control devices and barricades around work area;

Maintenance Worker Sewer
JOB SUMMARY Benefits Supplemental Questions
Performs general maintenance and repair of the City's sanitary sewer system which is comprised of gravity sewer mains, manholes, and pump stations. Participates in after hours emergency response for sewer and water distribution related issues. Participates in snow removal operations.

Must be able to work in all types of weather conditions common with the local climate, must be able to listen to normal conversation; must be able to walk, and use hands and fingers to operate, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; must be able to reach with hands and arms; must be able to have vision sufficient to see close up and have the ability to adjust focus; and, must be able to lift up to 80 pounds and transport it 15 feet.
- Provides direct supervision of assigned seasonal maintenance staff.
