A combination of education and experience substantially equivalent to:
- graduation from high school, and
- two (2) years of experience in general construction and/or maintenance work involving mechanical and/or piping systems and/or experience with maintenance of sewer systems, and
- possession of a valid State of Hawai'i driver's license (Class 3) or any other valid comparable driver's license at time of filing, and
- a current traffic abstract verifying no DUI convictions, license revocations, or suspensions for three (3) years preceding and no moving violations for one (1) year preceding. Under the general direction of the designated supervisor, responsible for the general maintenance of pumps wells and grounds.
This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

Water And Sewer Line Inspector II (Pcn13000280, 287, 458,565)
Full performance level in the construction inspection occupation under the general supervision of the Manager, Assistant Manager or Project Manager, requiring considerable knowledge of construction of underground utilities, infrastructure construction techniques, understanding of plumbing techniques, roadways and related equipment in order to investigate and inspect utility infrastructure construction and maintenance for compliance with approved plans and county specifications. Performs the material and substantial duties of the classification more than 50% of the time.
Inspects and documents the construction of county water, wastewater, solid waste district and other department infrastructure projects (e.g. buried and above ground utility infrastructure, support structures, valves, hydrants, manholes, backflow devices, affected roadways, and civil sites). If your name is placed on the eligibility list, your name will remain on the eligiblity list for one year unless you are removed in accordance with Civil Service Rule 4 or hired for a permanent position.

Residency and Veterans preference points will be awarded in conformance with the Akron City Charter if the candidate achieves a passing score in the competitive process.
DRIVER'S LICENSE: An applicant having a valid driver's license from another state will be accepted conditionally provided that, if selected, an Ohio Driver's License must be obtained prior to appointment. Candidates having six or more points on their driving record at the time of appointment will be disqualified from further consideration.
