Our mechanics get paid for the actual time they spend working, not the time from a labor guide. All services are performed in the field at our client’s location. - Repair, diagnose, inspect, and maintain all makes and models of Vertical Balers, Trash Compactors, Self-Contained Trash Compactors, Electric Jacks, Dock Levelers, Edge of Docks, Dock Seals, and Handicap Carts / Scooters
- Provide courteous and professional service
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment in compliance with Company and OSHA Standards
- 2+ years’ experience diagnosing and repairing compactors, balers, and/or other industrial equipment
- Working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems
- Ability to read electrical and hydraulic schematics
- Welding / fabricating experience
- Experience as a road mechanic a plus
- Exceptional customer service skills
- Must have own tools

Job Introduction Overlooking the operation of scrap baling compactors, loading trucks with bundled material using our overhead crane, cleaning the basement, maintaining the scrap conveyor’s and keeping the areas clean. Also overlook our aluminum scrap area and signing weight and loading tickets. Communicate with truck drivers. The Baler Operator is responsible to ensure that the Customer, People, and Investor goals are balanced and met.
Support our customer – Press Shop
Overlook the operation of both balers, scrap crane and scrap conveyor system
Keep both the steel and aluminum scrap area clean
Keep press shop basement clean and in safe conditions
Empty scrap hoppers with press shop and assembly scrap into lose scrap pit
Load lose scrap from our holding pit into the baler to make bales
Load trucks with baled scrap material and generate packing slips
Overlook the aluminum scrap area and sign packing slip when trailers are being picked up
Keep scrap conveyor clean and maintained
Tension up conveyor drive chains as needed
Keep up with baler PM’s as required
Perform daily checks and preventative maintenance
Rotating shifts (1, 2, 3) or permanent off shifts. Overtime based on customer requirements.
Perform other duties as required.
Knowledge and Education
High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
Must have a crane license
Must have a fork truck license

Baler operators bale waste material, load waste materials into rail cars and trucks, and measure and record the weight of waste shipments. Baler operators report to the Corrugator Superintendent.

Job Description: The Baler Operator reports to the Facilities & Operations Supervisor, or the Terminal Operations Manager.
The Baler Operator is responsible for the set up, operation, and maintenance of the baler while ensuring that all of his/her efforts are compliant with the company Health, Safety, and Environmental standards. Duties may include processing products through the baler to shape, form, and compress materials. Job Conditions This position is regularly exposed to all weather conditions. Physical hazards such as noise, fumes, and dirt are present due to the equipment, machinery, and scrap as would be found throughout the scrap yard.
Safety shoes, hearing protection, respirators, face shields, and additional personal protective equipment as needed, must be worn to eliminate the risks associated with these hazards. Travel is not required for this position. Handling multiple issues regarding safety and maintenance increases pressure.
Work load may be unpredictable and pressure can be substantial during peak times. Critical deadlines require considerable adaptability. Disturbances of work flow and/or irregularities in work schedule are expected and occur on an intermittent basis.
Extra hours may be required, sometimes on weekends, weekdays, and holidays.
